Bucky Bees has some of the most consistently incredible barbeque I've ever had. I am a huge barbeque fan and have toured lots of places over the years, and they seriously blow everything else away. That's not to say everything on the menu is the best I've ever had. But everything on the menu was fantastic. There were no misses. Usually when I go out to barbeque, I have to try to remember what things I liked from that specific location. Sometimes the meat is great but I don't like the sides, or vice versa. At Bucky Bees, I loved everything my family and I tried. My wife and I shared the sampler platter with brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and pork chop. It included two sides, so we got the baked beans and corn bread. Then, my son got the kid chicken nuggets, French fries, and mac. Another one from our party got a sampler with potato salad. Everyone at the table loved everything. We passed things back and forth, shared bites, and talked endlessly about how much we loved everything. The baked beans were to die for, the cornbread was a sort of pancake style and it was amazing (especially with honey), and the meat was all perfectly cooked. It didn't need sauce, but the sauces on the table were also excellent so we put that on fries. It was all so good that my 10-year-old son, who is notoriously picky, asked if we could go back the next day. We were only in Cave City for another day at that point, but we decided to go for it. So the next day, my wife got the loaded baked potato and I got the "Bucky pie," which was the pancake-style cornbread topped with pulled pork and baked bbeans. Portions were all generous enough that nobody went hungry, even though we shared each other's food. Only the carb-heavy baked potato had anything left for us to box up and take with us. Also, my wife and I couldn't decide whether the baked potato, the Bucky pie, or the sampler was better. I want to go back and get everything again just to try to settle the debate. All of that food is also at a reasonable price. When we got the sampler platter + kids meal, we paid about #36 and all left full. For comparison, we spend at least that much when we go to fast food, but the quality at Bucky Bees is so much better. Finally, the service was also great on both occasions. Despite being busy, the wait staff were attentive enough and they kept the place clean. I semi-seriously looked up housing prices near Cave City after the experience, but I could move to the area just for this food. I know that might sound hyperbolic, but I'm not kidding and not being paid to write a review. This was just...
Read moreTop notch BBQ with friendly service and excellent sides. This is my first time at Bucky Bees but won’t be my last. I ordered a brisket platter and I was hoping for some good barbecue brisket, but it turns out this was not just good. It was GREAT! The picture I took was after I had already eaten a couple of pieces so there was actually considerably more brisket. It was sliced thick and I was wondering how it was going to taste. Generally unless brisket is smoked properly at low temperatures and over at least 12 hours it’s going to be tough and chewy. Well, this brisket was moist and very tender. I especially liked the rub that was used. It had a good balance of spices without a lot of salt. The flavor was just perfect. I had my choice of spicy or sweet sauce but this brisket was so good that no sauce is needed. The helping was exceptionally large and will be enjoying a delicious barbecue brisket lunch tomorrow. I rate the brisket as some of the best I have ever tasted.
I also had the mixed greens and they too were enjoyable. Not too spicy and good flavor.
I splurged and picked up a piece of coconut meringue pie for dessert and I’m glad I did. Excellent pie. Good balance of coconut and sweetness.
I do not live in the area but each time I am near this BBQ restaurant I plan to stop in for another delicious meal. I don’t give 5 stars often. This place is one that deserves 5 for sure. The service was over the top as well. Very friendly and attentive. Considering the high quality I think the prices are reasonable. Oh, don’t forget the fried cornbread.
Update: 2nd visit My friend got the Bucky pie and I enjoyed the 1 lb potato and brisket on top. WOW! Excellent and I still have enough for another meal. Very tasty. Service was way over the top! Maddie was outstanding and food came out extremely fast. Fried pickle spears were also superb. Tasty breading and fresh pickles. Large...

My choice, the biggest baked potato covered in brisket, bacon, and cheese, exceeded expectations. Each bite was a flavorful journey, with the combination of tender brisket, crispy bacon, and gooey cheese creating a harmonious symphony of tastes and textures. It was truly a potato lover's dream come true, and I relished every moment of it.
The cleanliness of the establishment and the friendly demeanor of the server added to the overall positive experience. Despite being a random stop, I felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout my visit. The prompt service ensured that I didn't have to wait long for my meal to arrive, allowing me to enjoy it while it was still hot and fresh.
The BBQ sauces provided the perfect finishing touch, adding an extra layer of flavor to an already delicious meal. With all factors considered, I wholeheartedly recommend Bucky Bee's BBQ to anyone in search of mouthwatering barbecue and a welcoming atmosphere. It's a culinary destination worth seeking out...
