Pei Wei Asian Kitchen — Restaurant in Centennial

DO NOT EAT here if you are looking for gluten free/allergy friendly food. I’ve tried this place out several times in the past few months and it’s honestly very disappointing. I was drawn to them by the gluten free options, and i liked the fact that I can order my food with no garlic (because of an allergy), which is something that is hard to come by. However, the food is so inconsistent. There have been several times where my food was made wrong and wasn’t made gluten free, causing me to have an allergic reaction. The beef is always chewy and over cooked. I’ve gotten fried rice several times and about 50% of the time it is so over cooked, the eggs are black and it’s gross. I would always order vegetable fried rice and I’ve found shrimp inside of it twice, and being that I’m allergic to shellfish (as many people are) this is a HUGE issue.

It just really seems like that staff doesn’t takes any pride in their work and could care less about the quality of food they are putting out. It’s very disappointing because this place could really be great, if they actually tried to do the bare minimum. & if they took food allergies even remotely seriously.

The staff has never been very friendly to me when I’ve gone in. There are times when I’ve stood there waiting for someone to even acknowledge me for 10+ minutes when the entire dining room was empty.

Overall, I do not recommend this place. The prices are great, but I’d rather pay twice as much for quality food, and kind staff.

This location is a far cry from what it once was. Any semblance of service is gone completely. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty, but the person taking our order insisted that it would take 30 minutes to get our food. Apparently they're so busy with takeout orders that they make people in the restaurant wait.

It only took about 10 minutes to get our food, but they brought the wrong entrees three times. It's as if the person bringing the food to the table was just grabbing whatever was in the window. First it was the wrong entree entirely, then it was chicken instead of the shrimp I ordered. Then--finally--instead of bringing me the correct entree, they just brought out 8 lonely shrimp to put on top of the chicken.

What's more, the same thing happened to the couple sitting next to us. They couldn't get the right kind of rice, their entrees were wrong, and--despite promises to bring the right thing--they never got what they ordered.

On top of it all, the food in the restaurant is served in to-go containers. It's disappointing to go to a restaurant to sit down for dinner only to have everything served in plastic. The sauce for the wontons was even sent out in packets.

So disappointing that a restaurant I have loved for long is unable to meet even a basic level of service.

P.S. If they can't even manage to keep the sign outside working, maybe I should have known how bad things...

Terrible food quality overall. First time at a Pei Wei. Came in with low expectations and was looking forward to some American style "Asian fast food". Shrimp did taste good and freshly made, which is the only reason for a very generous two stars.

Everything else was worse than the worst frozen meal, no exaggeration. Rice tasted like it had been reheated multiple times or it was quite undercooked. I get that it's more difficult to make rice at high altitude but please add a little salt, extra water, and cook longer next time, or use a pressure cooker. When I make rice at home, it usually tastes good for a few hours even when left out, so the rice had to be super old if it was indeed made properly.

Vegetables were crisp but tasted like they had started fermenting and had a slimy coating, which is really disgusting. I normally love a sour flavor but it tasted rancid sour. Had a stomach ache a few hours after eating, even though I threw away everything but the shrimp after a few bites. Really disappointed to waste the money but maybe it's my fault for not making my own dinner after working 11 hours.

Staff seemed all right but hope they can put in a little more effort to serve somewhat freshly made food. Hoping no one else ever has to eat food like this unless they're...
