Went here today for lunch with a friend and was surprised I had been passing this gem for years when I was living here! Asian Corner cafe has a cool, new vibe inside with sleek tables and a large screen TV at their ordering counter. There is plenty of room to eat in, but there is the option to order out as well. We decided to order in and they have a diverse lunch menu. The menu is a mix of Thai and Chinese dishes.
I decided to get their broccoli beef, which came with a soup. Their soup is made fresh daily and changes daily as well. Unfortunately the soup of the day had tofu, so I was unable to eat it. I passed on the soup, but not my meal. The broccoli beef was absolutely delicious and was such a generous portion. It was difficult for me to believe that what the waitress sat down in front of me was lunch! I took my first bite and I was in heaven. The sauce was a nice mix of spice and salt and just delighted all of my taste buds!! They gave a generous serving of broccoli, beef, and carrots. I was able to eat off of my lunch for the rest of the day--into dinner as well.
The service was great as well as we were checked on and I felt appreciated. I wish I still lived in AZ as this would be my regular Thai/Chinese...
Read moreFirst time trying this place out. I normally get an entree that has meat in it but I have been trying to lower my consumption of meat so I opted for a vegetable sauté with tofu. The spicy sauce definitely lacked spice and was overall very watery. The taste of it was fine but nothing I would order again. I also ordered a cup of hot and sour soup and the soup was extremely off putting!! I don't think I will consume it as I don't want to risk food poisoning. :( My bill came out to almost 24 dollars so I am disappointed that the food lacked authentic flavors that chinese food is known for. I am trying to be nice about my review as I saw another review say this is a family owned business. This review would have been a two star perhaps a one star but I did go back in and ask for more sauce for my vegetables and they took my food back, added it to the wok with extra sauce and added more vegetables that I didn't ask for so that was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, despite being given a bit more vegetables I don't think I will return back to this...
Read moreThis is our favorite go-to local restaurant! We eat there around once a week. It is small and family owned. Benny is the server every time we have been there. He hardworking and is excellent. He always remembers our order and that we argue over whether we are sharing one order of crab puffs or getting two. We feel like Norm on Cheers when we walk in.
Be a little patient because Benny is the only server and there is one cook in back, but it it is worth the small wait. We frequently get hello waves from the cook through the window also. Our food is always yummy, always fresh, with generous portions so we have a leftover meal the next day too. Their pictures in one of the reviews and that they have rotating on the screen in the restaurant are their actual food cooked there and that is what it looks like when it comes out. My step-son has celiac and they also have great gluten free options for him that he enjoys.
This little place is well worth stopping in to try, just don't take our table! Tell Benny we...
