Location was excellent, and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We adored Lorenzo, our guide and valet.
The concept and room design are great. My partner is an interior designer, and she loved the way the rooms were assembled and furnished. Whoever was the designer had a sharp eye for antiques and wallpapers. It was outfitted nicely with snacks, drinks, and top-quality toiletries and soaps.
At this point, you may ask why 3 stars? While the aesthetics and staff were fantastic, the noise level from the bottom floor and terrible bedding made what we expected to be a fantastic stay rather uncomfortable. We were on the bottom floor next to the main entrance, and so we could hear everyone coming in and out of the house. We were woken up at 6am after a lovely late evening to people assembling the breakfast area. We were then woken up an hour later to vacuuming upstairs, then another hour after that by more vacuuming and chatter right outside our door. Our expectation of a slow, relaxing morning was ruined. On top of that, the spring-loaded mattress, along with pillows that were too firm yet somehow devoid of any volume, made us wake with aches and pains. And if we're in our late 20s/early 30s, I can't imagine how it'd affect older guests. It sounds harsh, but I promise I am being very fair here. It was like sleeping in Super...
Read moreMy wife and I spent a long weekend in Charleston in August, 2024. We enjoyed our stay at The JAsmine House very much. The boutiqe hotel is affiliated with The Indigo House, located directly across the street. We had the check in to our room at Indigo and then walked across the street. The staff at both Indigo and Jasmine were fantastic. They were very helpful and provided us a list of dining, drinking and cultural options during our stay. Our room was spotless on arrival and offered a four post bed, large bathroom and even a gas fireplace (not needed in August!). A cold buffet breakfast was offered- yogourt, croissants, bagels, coffee and tea and cereal, among other options. It was nice to be able to take breakfast back to our room, where we had twp leather chairs and snack tables to make it easier to enjoy. The hotel also had a 'happy hour' at 4:00- wine, beer and snacks. And a champagne hour at 8:00 PM, all complimentary. They also stocked the room with snacks and drinks at no additional cost. The hotel was in a great location- between Meeting Street and E Bay- and close enough to walk to the market, the farmers market, shops on King Street, Fort Sumpter tour. We were delighted we chose The Jasmine House and will certainly stay there again when we return...

When then were escorted to our room at the Inn by Karl who couldn't have been more informative about the Inn and the city of Charleston. When we went to breakfast the next morning we were greater by David who was such a joy to chat with and presented a wonderful breakfast of fresh pastries, cereals cinnamon rolls etc!!! The evening wine and cheese is from 4-7pm and includes so many things to choose from its like a meal in itself and then from 8-9pm they bring out the sparkling wine and fresh macaroons!!!
