Where to begin? Let’s start with the restrooms like the previous reviewer said the restrooms are very poorly managed if managed at. Both were dirty and lacked paper towels. The buffet itself had a pretty decent selection especially for a Monday lunchtime with six meat/non-veg options however everything was below room temperature and cold. I’m sure this is a health code violation. I believe a buffet should stay at a minimum 145° this was barely 80. The naan is made in batches and is thrown onto the buffet in stacks so after a few minutes they get cold and rubbery. Everything is self-service from picking your plates to getting your own water. I don’t know why they have a tip option at check out since you have to do everything yourself. I only went back up to the buffet one more time but nobody even came to pick up our old plates. The decor is laughable with randomly place objects and stock food photos everywhere and last but at least was the one TV blaring Bollywood music so loud you could barely hear yourself. They don’t have YouTube premium so every few minutes really loud ads would play. Hoping they can change things up as these are small details that can be changed and improved overnight.

I recently visited Masti Indian Restaurant & Bar and had a mixed experience. The food was average overall, but there were a few highlights and some disappointments. On a game day special, they offered $5 for 2 slices of Indian flavor pizza, which tasted good and was a pleasant surprise. However, the boneless chicken biryani was a letdown. The rice was undercooked, and the chicken wasn’t tender, lacking the quality expected in a good biryani. We also ordered masala chai, which was a redeeming part of the meal, served in a unique tandoori style and tasting quite good. Unfortunately, the dahi puri didn’t meet expectations either, as it lacked flavors. The ambiance was just okay, and the location wasn’t the best, so one needs to be careful. Despite these issues, I found the restaurant to be decent overall. If they can improve on the consistency of their dishes, particularly the biryani and dahi puri, it could be a much better dining experience.

BATHROOM LIKE IN INDIA. Do I have your curiosity and attention? The Pani Puri was excellent and authentic. Perhaps it's because I was unable to thoroughly wash my hands in the restroom due to the unsanitary india like conditions. No paper towels. Soap at 15% or less. No air freshener. Dried urine around the seat and floor. Since I was unable to thoroughly wash my hands and I had to open the bathroom door with my barehands, it provided that authentic India Like taste and experience as I ate with my hands. No wonder the pani puri was out of this world for me. Now, just imagine how the Naan tasted. Phenomenal to be honest. The filthy bathroom provided a taste from my bare hands that Transported me back to Baroda in 2006. Go see for yourself. Bathroom is located up the stairs as you enter. Mens on the right. Womens on the left. I actually checked out both to see if they would both provide the authentic indian experience and it did!

If google had offered me the ability to give a negative rating, this would be that restaurant. I visited this restaurant for lunch. The banner on the street indicated that the buffet is for $15.99. Once you enter the restaurant, the price changed to $17.99 ..... why? the front desk attendant explained that the sign posted outside was an older one and no one ever thought of changing the price on it (its alright, not a big difference but thats when I should have seen the red flag). The buffet was inside a seperate room above the restaurant (ala carte dining was at the main level). No one from the staff led me to the room but I had to go upstairs. The buffet room was cluttered, had a few tables and some of them already had plates on them with food in it with no one eating. Appeared that people had eaten and left and those tables were not cleaned up. After I figured our a place to seat on my own, I waited....and waited and waited......no server showed up at all.....to ask if I needed water or soft drinks. I finally walked to the buffet. The food was dry because it was sitting in the buffet container on a burner for long without being stirred. The lamb vindaloo, however, tasted good. Several items that were consumed were not even replenished. I ate the food in 20 minutes, walked down and paid the bill. Not once did anyone from the business enter the buffet room. I was the only person in the dining area for the 30 minutes I sat there. I asked them while I was paying the bill as to why no one showed up and they said they have a staff crunch. Also it since it was a self serve buffet, there is no staff required (not even to offer beverages and/or replenish food items). They said they will pass on this feedback to the owner. The staff was cocky and the restaurant surely has no idea on how to run a food business. This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever visited. Avoid this place. It is a waste of your time and money. Food quality is bad and...

Hands down the BEST Indian cuisine I’ve found in Charlotte - and I’ve tried many. None compare to the consistency and full flavors of Masti’s cuisine. One time I actually met the man himself, Gopal, who cooks this incredible food. Best guy ever, and he knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. I don’t understand the sub 4.8 star overall rating - truly blows me away considering how delicious the food is. The quality of the lamb/chicken are always top notch. My favorites are the lamb korma (super thick and cashew infused, which is unlike any in Charlotte, making it my personal favorite), tikka masala with chicken or paneer, the chili chicken and chicken 65. Always incredible. I get “extra spicy” for all the above.

Furthermore, their prices are better than you’ll find anywhere else in the city, especially for being right in the heart.

PLEASE TRY MASTI. I enjoy this food beyond comprehension. It’s always such a treat. If you’re picking up, say...
