El Taconazo La Fiesta 📍 5600 W 35th St, Cicero, IL 60804 ⭐☆☆☆☆
🚨 WARNING: Extremely Disappointing Experience! 🚨
I decided to give El Taconazo La Fiesta another try, and honestly, this visit was a complete disaster. While I can say the service was good and the atmosphere was nice, the most important thing — the food — was absolutely terrible and ruined the entire experience. I walked in expecting the same quality I had in the past, but what I got this time was nothing like before.
I had been here in the past, and the food used to be better, but this visit left me so frustrated and disappointed that I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back.
I ordered three tacos:
Carne Asada Taco → They claim it’s made with arrachera (skirt steak), but what I got looked nothing like that. The meat was chopped into such tiny little pieces it looked more like ground beef than real skirt steak. On top of that, there was almost no meat at all — the taco was loaded with more cilantro and onions than anything else. Paying for an “asada taco” and getting this was extremely disappointing.
Chicharrón en Salsa Verde Taco → This one was the absolute worst. The chicharrón had a bad sour taste, the flavor was awful, and I couldn’t even finish it. It was nearly inedible.
Tripas Taco → This one was a little better than the others, but still nowhere near good enough to save the overall experience.
To make things worse, the tortillas were so hard I couldn’t even eat them. I told the waitress, and she admitted that maybe they overheated them, which made them stiff. Then she mentioned they had just received a new delivery of fresh tortillas and offered me one taco with the new tortilla. I agreed, and yes — the fresh tortilla was much better. But that didn’t change the fact that my first tacos — especially the asada and chicharrón — were already ruined.
And here’s the biggest issue: if they just received fresh tortillas, why did they serve me old, hard tortillas with my original order? That shows a complete lack of care and attention to what’s being served to customers.
The only positive thing I can say about my meal was the agua de horchata — that was actually good. But one good drink doesn’t make up for bad quality meat, sour chicharrón, hard tortillas, and being served old food. Overall, this was an awful and frustrating experience from start to finish.
I had given this place a chance based on my past visits, but after this experience, I will not be coming back and I cannot recommend it to anyone who actually cares about the quality of...
Read moreCalled in for order pick up . Asked for a steak quesadilla and they gave me a taco with cheese sprinkled on top. I call and tell them my order is wrong and they ask me to bring back the taco. They tell me call before you get here so it’s ready . I do just that. I get there and they wanna argue with me that it’s my fault . That I should’ve specified I wanted my quesadilla on a flour tortilla. That ALL the customers know that by now. My total was $94 and gave a tip . Spent $100 and they wanna argue about a quesadilla. That I should know eat in customers get flour tortillas and take out gets maíz. They didn’t give one of the tacos I ordered and didn’t cook the rest of the tacos how I asked. They ask how do you want it cooked , you tell them and they don’t do it anyways. Aside from messing up your whole order they ask you to bring the food back to inspect it and tell you to your face how you’re wrong . If you order from here make sure you either go in and stand next to them while they cook the food and tell them exactly how it’s done or spend a lot of money so it’s worth their time to replace your order. To then have them shove the made taco in your face and ask for your...
Read moreI ordered an Uber eats order because didn’t have cash, I go in and they act like I’m trying to steal the order… I ordered 4 tacos , cilantro and cebolla on the side, cheese on them. Then I also ordered 4 quesadillas… …. So tell me why! Like really why does the tacos and quesadillas look the same. Cilantro and cebolla was on everything… last time I check they dont put cilantro and cebolla on the quesadillas ….. and quesadillas are pan fried/grilled…. Take a look at my pictures , as I asked , which is, they said that the quesadillas are with the cheese. Nothing is pan nothing. Just regular soft tacos. The picture is a side by side of what is supposedly a quesadilla and what’s supposedly a taco. I was looking forward to having quesadillas… not double the tacos. And when do people put cilantro and cebolla in quesadillas . For almost $45 this is Bogus. People pay for what they want and I...
