Steam House Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in City of Mount Vernon

Empty for a Tuesday evening. Only one other couple sitting at the tables. The bar area was pretty full. The waitress was friendly, she was new and act like she didn't know what she was doing. Overall experience was not enjoyable at all. It took 35-40 minutes for the chips to be put on the table. As appetizers, the Shrimp Montaditos was over cooked. If it was just right, it would have tasted amazing, but instead we got hard crust. It took 50 minutes for that to come out, and the appetizers came out with our dinner. We were told the kitchen was backed up, but the place was pretty empty. I watched as patrons from the bar kept going back toward the kitchen area and putting in orders. Not professional or appropiate especially when they were getting their food before we got ours, and we ordered first. The Jerk Chicken and Snapper dishes were fine. We had to ask for silverware. Today went to the Steam House Restaurant and I must say they have average tasting food meaning not that great,and recieved little to no food on my plate as I was being served by the server due to it being a tiny ass buffet.As well showed little to no professionalism in this establishment as the kitchen crew decided to have a fight during the birthday event which was just ridiculous. Also watched one of my servers pour me a glass of soda from a pepsi bottle that you can get from a store and was half empty and let me tell everyone the soda was flat and nasty and the server had the nerve to tell me drink section for the Soda is closed and try to charge $2.00 for it.Which I highly doubt it probably didnt have more bottles of soda to serve. Every restaurant should have fountain or preferably a distribution supplier for can sodas instead of bottles that go flat this restaurant needs a major update and professionalism in the work place also...

Worst customer service ever . I walked in to order food the servers were arguing . When they finally took my order of fried chicken and jerk chicken after waiting for 45 mins I was the only person in the whole restaurant on a Sunday Dec 2nd .After I asked the waitress about my food she said to me they don’t have jerk chicken and they were now making my food I just left . This is my 2nd attempt to eat here and I never got a chance to have the food . I’m really surprised how they are still in business .I really wanted to support black own businesses but it’s so hard to especially when the service is horrible .
