Do not plan a dinner party at this place

Was invited to a birthday dinner party and informed weeks in advance it was a prefix menu for $80 per person. If the guests wanted 2 alcoholic beverages it would be an additional $25. Not bad right? Well as soon as the guests arrived there is a person at the front who can only be described as a bully. There was no greeting, no welcome, not even a smile, just cold with lots of attitude. This person then proceeds to tell each guest that in order to enter the dinner party they would have to pay an additional $25. Well some guests were elderly and don’t drink liquor while others choose not to drink. Upon explaining to the “host” that they chose the $80 option of no liquor the “host” responds with “well if you don’t want any drinks the $25 is for soda or water”. Wait $25 for soda and/or water? Basically they are forcing you to pay the fee just to enter the dinner party. So now we’re up to $105 per person. You would think you would be served a decent meal with a smile? Well guess again. For $105 they serve you a super tiny piece of steak, only 2 tablespoons of mashed potato and a vegetable. That’s it. For those who did pay the extra $25 for 2 drinks, many got only 1 alcoholic beverage. The wait staff was just as worse as the bully host. They ignored the guests even after saying excuse me multiple times. They looked at dinner guests and just walked away. It was the most horrible experience. Unfortunately it seems the treatment may have had something to do with the fact that the dinner party was for an individual who is African American and the guests were mostly minorities (Indian, African American, Hispanic and Asian). This is truly shameful as the majority of the guests who attended were medical/clinical staff who as a result of this horrible experience would never think to return to this establishment. This is why it’s important to never judge a book by its cover. Most dinner guests ended up leaving and grabbing a bite to eat some place else. That speaks volumes to the terrible treatment received at this restaurant. Best advice-plan your dinner party someplace else.
