My partner and I visited Trinity Brewing after seeing so many good Google reviews. We walked in with high hopes and left disappointed.
TL;DR - long waits, mediocre food, okay beer.
We arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday night and saw they were busy but not so busy we couldn't find a table. What we experienced next I'll discuss in 3 phases - the dining experience, the service, and the food.
DINING EXPERIENCE - we waited 5 or so minutes in line to learn we needed to seat ourselves. We found a table and used the QR codes to locate the menus. This was a nice touch with COVID-19 precautions. After selecting our menu items we stood in line another 10 minutes to order. After ordering, we weren't offered water or given silverware before heading back to our outdoor table. The tables are a neat mix of barrels and sealed, raw edge wood. The ambiance was reminiscent of California style outdoor dining, just a bit more rustic.
SERVICE - After ordering our food, we returned to our table. We waited about 10 minutes before asking the host for water, which he gladly provided. There are no typical wait staff, just servers that deliver your food and clear tables. We grabbed the attention of an older female waitress after waiting over 35 minutes, asking how we can find out why our drinks hadn't been brought out and if anyone knew the status of our food. She was kind, friendly, and explained food had been taking 20-35 minutes to come out. Ultimately, there's nice, well intentioned staff but the service is lackluster at best.
Food/Drinks- here is what we ordered:
Drinks - Dark Cherry Seltzer, Dillyo Pickle Ale, Some Weird Sin Ale
The seltzer was good, but lacked any good carbonation typical of a seltzer drink. The Dillyo didn't taste much of dill but was good. The Some Weird Sin Ale was quite good with lots of complex flavors.
Food - French fries & ranch dressing; Mac & Cheese pizza, add bacon; Trinity Wings (carnivore), & Beer cheese soup.
After waiting 40 minutes the food came out warm, but not hot. The French fries were bland and limp, luckily the ranch dressing appears to be homemade and provided a fantastic robust flavor. The beer cheese soup was runny and weakly flavored. No spoon was provided. The kitchen prepared vegan wings, not bone in chicken wings, which were sent back to the kitchen and nobody could locate the pizza.
The host took the pizza and wings off the bill with a kind apology.
It's been a long time since I've given a such a low review, but I very much disliked this experience. Hopefully the management can get the front and back of the house issues straightened out, as I think this restaurant has a lot of promise...
Read moreI hate to leave a poor review for one of my favorite places but the last two times they have really missed the mark with caring about / taking feedback on allergy issues seriously.
I want to say thankyou to the tall redhead man who works there, sorry I don’t know his name. He is always so patient when I come in there’s I have a chronic illness and due to that have become reactive to many foods like wheat and dairy. He always takes the time to double check on ingredients
The girl with the long dark hair really needs to learn how to be more compassionate. She’s only pleasant to deal with if there is no issue. If there is an issue she doesn’t take any initiative to ask how to make things better or correct it.
They changed their gluten free buns and the new one is terrible. I was served a cold gluten free bun which isn’t usually what happens. gluten free buns have to be warmed up or they are utterly inedible. I never had a problem when I was ordering their other version of the gf buns, it would come out warmed up with the burger. I asked for them to toast it and was brought back still cold, like no difference whatsoever. . I tried to just eat it because my anxiety spiked and didn’t want to say anything but it was terrible with crumbling and falling apart because they aren’t meant to be eaten that way.
When I tried to tell her, she told me just don’t eat it…..really girl? Who made you mad?
There was no oh I’m sorry, I’ll pass your feedback along, is there something else you would like instead ? Seeing that I can’t really enjoy a chicken sandwich without the bread 😃
She said don’t eat it it’s not an extr charge and as I was explaining it was, she walked away and yelled I GOT IT, cut me off while I was talking and just went to the computer and that was our interaction.
This is not my first time dealing with her rudeness, the last time I had an issue ordering a gluten free meal and received wheat she had absolutely no sorry, remorse or accountability. I spoke with her over the phone, she has no type of hospitality mannerism. it’s just this time I’m resorting to leaving a review unfortunately because I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt in the past that maybe she was having a bad day, nope she’s just got a sour attitude .
a word to the wise girl, kindness and patience goes along way. I guess you must not have any limitations in your life to have to care about someone else’s. You are the type of worker that really makes it hard for us that have chronic illness to go out and enjoy ourselves because we are made to feel bad, minimized or not treated with decency when we just want to enjoy a...
Read moreThis was an unfortunate first visit to say the least. Myself and my guest waited 52 minutes for an appetizer in an establishment that wasn’t even standing room only, let alone had a lot of people ordering food but I guess that may have just been a sign they had been there for an hour and were still waiting.
When we ordered we specifically asked for no mushrooms, which was repeated back to us by the bartender. When the food was delivered, we were told the sliders were made without mushrooms so it’s clear the communication made it down the line, however, they were visible falling out of the bun and littered all over meat. You could literally see them in the tray that was delivered so I don’t know what the expectation was, that we wouldn’t notice?
I don’t know what’s more upsetting, that we had to wait nearly an hour to get a single appetizer that was made wrong or that we were never informed there was such a significant wait for an appetizer until people started to complain after waiting and then people were told it was a 30-45 minute wait. In addition to the ridiculous wait, I watched the people that ordered after us receive their food before us. Clearly the kitchen in this place needs some serious work because they’re either incompetent or have so much hubris in their operation that they think patrons won’t notice.
The beer was ok but I can throw a rock and hit a brewery in this town that makes quirky beers that taste better and have infinitely faster service. The only saving grace that keeps this from being a single star is that my food was refunded without hesitation and the bartender handled the situation as if she receives the same complaint regularly. I’ll chose to spend my money somewhere else...
