I am a life-time resident of the Columbus area and today a couple of friends and I decided to walk around downtown Columbus and the Franklinton area. We were quite hungry after about 2 hours so decided to stop into BrewDog for a snack. We ordered the Veggie Sampler Stak and some cocktails. When our Veggie Sampler was delivered which should have had Cauliflower buffalo wings, mexican corn, mac-n-cheese, fries, sweet potato fries blue cheese dip and garlic aioli, we noticed all we had was 6 pieces of buffalo CHICKEN wings, fries and sweet potato fries with dip and aioli. We went to the bar, as they have no servers that come to your table to take your order, we explained the problem to a young wooman named "Gwen". Gwen was extremely rude and condescending and told us that, while we could get cauliflower wings, we were only enbtitled to 3-4 of them. We asked her how this made sense to her. They delivered 6 pieces of chicken that we did not want, chicken is more expensive than cauliflower, and questioned her as to why she won't replace all 6 chicken pieces with 6 cauliflower pieces. She told us that this was the way the business operated. When, after 22 minutes, a person from the kitchen, not Gwen, delivered us 4 small cauliflower wings, we asked for more aioli and dip as we had used the previous ones to eat our fries and sweet potato fries. After a couple of minutes, Gwen appeared and asked us which of our credit cards we wanted her to put the extra charge for the dips on. I explained to her that this mistake was on the restaurant's part and that I did not think it was appropriate for her to ask us to pay for 2 additional small cups of dip. She again said, "this is the company's policy". Having been a small business owner (Jane Gray Associates) for many years who has employees, I knew this was not how any successful business owner would like his/her customers treated so I asked to speak to the manager. Whan the manager arrived, she was very polite and asked us to explain what happened. She agreed that we should never have been served chicken on our vegetarian selection, and that we sould have been also served the corn and Mac-n-cheese. When I told her that Gwen tried to charge us more money for the dips and that she was very rude, she said, "She's only doing her job". I challenged her on this by telling her that I was sure the owner of this chain of restaurants would like to hear about this and that I was going to write reviews about it. After hearing this, she immeidately offered free dips and the original meal we ordered "free of charge". I am writing this as a business owner who would be extremely disturbed if my employees ever treated any of my clients in this manner. In fact, I tell my employees that our clients are "golden" and must always be treated as such...NO MATTER WHAT. We ordered a selection from their menu, were served something entirely different, we approached the staff politely to ask them to correct their mistake, were argued with, told we would have to actually pay more for the meal we ordered, and therefore had to explain all of this to the manager and wait an additional 22 minutes for the meal we originally ordered. As a result, I will never patronize the Franklinton Brewdog again and I will share my experiene with all of my friends and business asociates. However, I will try Brewdog again at another location (I travel extensively) in order to give the business a second chance. I sincerely hope Corporate Brewdog reads this review and makes an effort to...
Read moreI ate a delicious meal last night [9-9-2022] at BrewDog Franklinton [at 463 W. Town St. in the "Franklinton" neighborhood of Columbus].
For the previous several months, I had been planning to attend an art exhibition opening last night, one block to the south, at The Vanderelli Room [at 218 McDowell St.]. However, the artist for that exhibition had not yet arrived when I had first arrived at that art gallery so I decided to eat first [at BrewDog Franklinton] and then to return after my meal to the art gallery.
That section of the Franklinton neighborhood had been quite lively the entire time while I had been there because I had arrived during the monthly "Franklinton Friday" event [of which I have been aware for the past several years but had never before attended]. I had taken a COTA bus from a relatively quiet neighborhood of central Ohio so I had been astonished, as soon as I had gotten off my bus, by the great amount of activity in that neighborhood.
My food choice last night at BrewDog Franklinton had been a Pork and Gouda Burger [pork and chorizo patty, smoked gouda, fried onions, and sundried tomato burger sauce]. I had also ordered fries [expecting that there would be an additional charge for the fries only to learn that all burgers that are served there are automatically served with fries].
My food arrived perhaps ten minutes after I had ordered it. I had been expecting a longer wait, because BrewDog Franklinton had been so crowded and busy at that time, but that had not been the case.
The one change that I would have recommended in terms of how my food had been served is that I would have preferred that the Pork and Gouda Burger would have been served on a "regular" plate instead of being served, on top of a piece of paper, on a metal tray.
I quickly learned that I would be unable to use a serrated "steak knife" to cut my Pork and Gouda Burger into smaller pieces for easier eating without tearing the paper so I asked for a "regular" plate. I was given a white-painted circular metal tray with raised edges that fit my needs perfectly.
The Pork and Gouda Burger had been particularly delicious. Over the years, I have eaten many cheeseburgers that have been made with ground beef and a slice of American cheese. The pork and chorizo meat had been a wonderful variation on that familiar-to-me food item; the Gouda cheese -- another wonderful variation on that theme -- had been a particular treat.
Paying my bill had been different from the method of payment at any other restaurant where I have eaten. Several minutes before finishing my meal, I had noticed a small laminated QR code that has been permanently attached to my table. After waiting for one or two minutes for a "paper" bill to arrive, I decided to use my smartphone to scan the QR code that had been attached to my table [mostly to see what might happen]. My table number and my order immediately appeared on my smartphone; I was then able to pay my bill without ever seeing a paper receipt.
If you are in the Franklinton neighborhood and are looking for some delicious food that will be prepared and served in a lively-but efficient environment, I strongly recommend BrewDog...
Read moreHello I made a reservation after seeing a post on Facebook about igloos to the Franklinton location, however, I made the reservation I paid $25 I called before making the reservation. Spoke to somebody at the same location that told me about an appetizer platter that would be offered for additional money, other than their normal menu in the so-called igloo that was never offered, and then also told me that my fee for booking would be applied to my check at the end.
I will start with the fee I mentioned to my server she said let me go to my manager. She came back and said the manager said that was the fee for the so-called igloo and I referred to my email that said it would be applied to my final bill, well she argued, with me then finally gave $25 off after she added $25 so it remains the same total. I proceeded to just pay it and go in to speak to the manager and the manager argued with me saying that the email is misrepresented and I should be paying the 25 for the igloo. This is incorrect.
Then bring me to the food I had six people in our so-called igloo not one person could properly eat the chicken we spent $186 on the worst food I’ve ever had matter of fact I had to stop at target just to pick up a 50 pack a pizza rolls to feed my four children Teenage and adult children because the chicken was so bad right after I left this establishment I had a cheeseburger it was great. The pretzel was great but every chicken item we ordered was over cooked to the points of the chicken was hollow.
Then bring me to the actual igloo. It was a see-through greenhouse. Absolutely not an igloo whatsoever completely missed represented that was very disappointing but we had no option because I was bringing my son there for his 20th birthday. I could’ve had a heck of a better dinner for almost $200. I do expect some type of response to this email, as I am completely...
