My experience on Feb 2024 Dinner. Parking place is so damage and the floor is full of cracks and pot hole, so the property doesn't feel welcoming Very strange smell when you enter the building, likely it is caused by many years of cooking but certainly doesn't feel good. Our table service person asked me if I have Groupon so that she can enter the code in her system, just to figure out if I'm a groupon holder, unfortunately I didn't know the intension of the ask at that moment [she didn't ask other party who sat next to us on same table] , she asked because I called the restaurant and verified about groupon usage before get to the restaurant. I purchased 4 person groupon [not kids menu], for 2 kids and 2 adults the food portion they offered for my kids way low and for us lower than other guests who didn't use Groupon. [Be warned do not tell them you have Groupon, if you want to try even after seeing this review.] The food was less than average, I really surprised that there were many customer says the food is great, I guess may be they like lot of sodium aka salt in their food, the amount of sodium via a magic powder [that was the chef called, I believe it was mix of dry onion, garlic and salt ], and soy sauce is way high, be warned if you have Blood pressure situation. My spouse, kids and I all had effect next day morning [so I started writing this review]. Our primary reason to go Hibachi restaurant was my son got excited watching a youtube video and wanted to go, at the same time I saw this restaurant in Groupon alert, it was a very bad call to drive that far. There is one Hibachi Restaurant closer to me who doesn't offer Groupon but the price are average to shell out. Unfortunately none of the chef knows tricks/shows during dine time and it was very upsetting, only think my kids did awww was the fire. [If you and your kids like to see shows, this is not the place], there are other customer reported this already. Cost of dinner for an average person is $26 which is way high for the ambience, portion and taste of the food. Fast food restaurant Panda express would have made my kids feel way better than this experience and it would have cost me almost 1/3 Price. Even though be paid for adult food they reduced portion of our food, if I do restaurant business similar to this, I won't care who sits on the table if they order Dinner portion I do serve same level irrespective of who is eating I don't care whether they finish or throw them, for me they paid for it!!

Pros: Because of the groupon we paid little money than the full price. Note: I did notice in the restaurant that they offer 25% off for dinner, do not know if that is applicable for current dinning or for...

Before we left to come i looked online at site to see if needed to make a reservation. Nothing was listed... We drove from East to North side was trying to take our children for their first experience there, we get there bout 5:30 Saturday evening "girl" working counter was not personable at all.. I get things have changed due to covid, which is why I looked online. So get there walk up no greeting.tell her 4 people she said well right now I am not really telling anyone a wait time. I was like I looked online to see if i needed to call first she said yea we more of a phone place not online and there are several reservations ahead of you but I can still write your name down. So she did no estimated time she did say could be 30 mins or be 2 hours so she was telling everyone who came in same thing people were getting flustered. The whole room by restroom was full of people waiting.. After a hour and half I went up and asked how many were a head of us she said well your next but I still have the reserved people coming in and I said ok how many are there of those she said oh a few i said have they calles in for a specific time she said yes and I said ok so how many people still coming in that called for next closet time which would be 730? we signed in at 528 she had ir wrote by our name.. She still couldn't really give a time so we left . very disappointed.. Our children were excited to have the experience.. We have been there before but without them.. We will be back but hope next time is different and I will be calling a head.. Would be ideal to make other side by bar and such a nother eating area they could get more business.. I understand you cant really know how long someone is going to be there and eating but everywhere you go to eat can give you a rough estimation... Even...

I had a below average experience here. I came with a group of 20 people for a birthday. I ordered Steak and Scallops. When the chef came out to verify orders. I told him 3xs I wanted my steak medium. He ignored me. When he made the food he gave me scallops and no steak. My friend rice had no vegetables. And I had no side of vegetables like everyone else.

When I asked him where my steak was he argued with me and told me I did not order it therefore I didn’t get what I ordered. The portion of scallops that was suppose to be a “dinner” portion was pathetic. The fried rice didn’t look like any fried rice I’ve ever seen. It looked very sloppy and with out effort. To make matters worse.

The child sitting next to me had 3xs as much food as I did and asked me if I wanted to share. I was not full after I ate the scallops and my whole plate was the “fried” rice. Because the chef was so rude I went and spoke with the manager.

The manager didn’t even apologize on behalf of the chef. He asked me if I wanted the same chef to go back and make my steak and at that point the other people at my table were finishing there meals.

I expected he would at least apologize or discount the tab. When the bill came the manager gave me 50% off of each of my soda WATERS. $2 total of my tab. Everyone else at my party used a Groupon to get half off of their food.

At the end of my experience I was still hungry and had to pay full price for a third of the meal that everyone else was given. Everyone else had extra portions that they took home in carry out boxes and I did not have anything but a full plate...

Ate here yesterday taking advantage of a Groupon. As far as the food quality I thought it was very good. Although it had been about 4 years since experiencing a Japanese Steakhouse I don't recall feeling a need to add to my food any of the "complimentary" sauces. The showmanship of the chef compared to my pervious Japanese Steakhouse experiences was a bit lacking. A few negatives: The prices on the website are not up to date being about $5 lower than the menu price. Therefore our meal cost significantly more than planned. Personally I felt the food portion for the meal was lopsided. Appetizer amount for the shrimp was lacking. The main dish size compared to the fried rice resulted in more fried rice than main dish. This impacted my opinion of the food to price value. Also our table had 2 parties with the other half of the table being empty. This openness of the table I assume is what prompted the restaurant decision to include a takeout meal being cooked with our meal. This is not necessarily is not a problem. I mean it has to be prepared somewhere. However the take home containers were placed between the 2 parties at our table. I felt this was a bit tacky in presentation and atmosphere when there was plenty of room for the containers on the empty half of our table area. In general I would eat here again but only with the a Groupon or similar discount. Otherwise If I was asked to choose a Japanese Steakhouse to eat at in the Columbus area without a discount I'd choose House of Japan by Tuttle Crossing.

Came here with hubs cause there was a coupon. It was quite a disappointing experience, unfortunately. Came here early on a Saturday so wasn't too busy. So apparently they have you wait till there's at least 8 people to sit you together. Waiter was quick to take our orders and quick to make you leave. Our cook was amazing and food was decent. I got the filet mignon and lobster (lobster was not worth it, didn't taste that good). Hubs got the Shogun which I preferred my filet mignon over. The meal also had shrimp, salad, cooked veggies and rice of either steamed or fried (basically you pay extra to watch your rice get cooked in front of you). What we HATED most was the waiter came immediately right after the cook left, asked if we needed boxes to go when we barely just got out meals. Then returns in about 10 mins and gives us all our checks and was literally just waiting for us to pay. Felt like they just wanted to rush us out so they can serve the next group when there were 2 other hibachi tables available to use! Would never come back here even with a better coupon deal. Not worth my time when I'm not worth their time.

Horrible place to eat! Initially we were told they were cleaning a table for us and the wait would be a matter of minutes.. We sat at the bar and had drinks. Bartender was great and made a wonderful virgin strawberry daiquiri.. without his help we would probably be still be waiting for a table. The next chain of events lead to a waitress who wasn’t listening. We asked for lemons for our waters 3 different times and our daughters pink lemonade was disgusting. After we told her about the drink she said, of yea we just had to replace it?! Don’t you think you shouldn’t serve a beverage when you know it’s bad?! The meal…… welll the soup tasted like feet broth and the house salad dressing smelled and tasted exactly you like fish oil… When our hibachi chef came to the table he was extremely apologetic, but served us spaghetti noodles and the food was very bland… 150$ later without anyone addressing our concerns we are writing this review and hoping to discourage anyone from the same experience!
