I never leave a review but I don't want anyone else to go through this. We came in on a Saturday at 2 pm and were seated immediately. We didn't have our drink order taken until 2:30. Our food didn't arrive until 3:20 and both of our orders were wrong. One was a Mac and cheese bowl with pulled chicken that came out as a mashed potato bowl with onions. I ordered ribs with dry rub and no sauce but my ribs had sauce. When she brought it out she said that they were out of dry rub. After waiting another 5 minutes to flag down wait staff after my partner realized he got the wrong order, they put the order back in. When she came back with it 5 minutes later it was still missing the chicken with still incorrect toppings. I had already finished eating mine before my partner even started. My partner asked to speak to a manager and the waitress denied him but said she would take his chicken off the bill but at this point we had been here for 2 hours and he still did not have his order so we just asked for the bill and it to be removed. I also said I didn't get what I wanted and she claimed that they were dry rub under the sauce, despite the fact that she said they were out of it when she brought my plate out. I said I didn't want the sauce and she said I didn't order it correctly. We had to ask another staff member for a manager. We waited another 15 minutes and still no manager so I said let's just pay and leave. The waitress came back and said they couldn't do anything else for us and apologized. We were like it is what is is and she said that there's good days and bad days. Yesterday was a bad day and today is half and half. If today is only half bad, I really wouldn't want to come in a bad day.
They were short staffed, which I understand. I've been in that situation. The staff handled it very poorly with the customer service. The waitress would not listen to our complaints and constantly blamed the kitchen staff. The restaurant only had maybe 10 tables with customers and all of them seemed displeased. My food was good but the service was the worst experience we've ever had. Both the Mac and cheese and mashed potato bowl did not look appetizing, even if it were the correct order. I still wouldn't recommend it. The ribs are great though. I've never asked for a manager before! It was one of the most uncomfortable restaurant experiences.
I'm not sure if they were having a bad day or if this location is just mismanaged, but if you want to go to smokey bones, drive a few minutes and go to a...
Read moreWe visited the Easton, Morse Crossing, Columbus, OH Smokey Bones 10/26/2024 at 8pm. Upon entering, the atmosphere was chaotic. There was no one at the host stand seating all of the people standing around. We sat down to wait and the woman beside us said they had been waiting a long time. The host finally took our name and said the wait was about 20 minutes. About 5 minutes later, we were seated. Zabre was our server. We quickly ordered as we were hungry, coming from the OSU game and not having eaten since breakfast. We ordered grilled chicken salad & salmon salad. The food came almost too quickly and the salmon was very undercooked. Zabre took my salad and promised a new one. My husband began eating his grilled chicken salad.
I waited and waited for my salad. Zabre was apologetic, but at one point said “well, it does take 20 minutes to cook the salmon,” like it was my fault that they didn’t cook it properly the first time and hold the food until it was ready to serve to both of us. Zabre avoided our table, didn’t check on my husband’s food, or offer water refills. If there was a manager on duty, they never showed up to apologize, either.
I had decided to skip dinner & went to the car. Zabre brought my salmon salad and our bill at the same time, clearly intending to not return until she saw payment. My husband called me and convinced me to come back inside and eat. Obviously, my husband was done eating before my food ever arrived.
This was also my birthday meal. Zabre never asked if we wanted dessert. I have a Bones Reward for a free dessert that I didn’t use because I was very upset about this meal that my husband and I were unable to enjoy together and I just wanted to leave.
When Zabre came for the payment, she finally asked my husband if he wanted a water refill. He said yes. She never brought it. We paid and as we were leaving, the booth behind us had ordered salmon and their salmon was also being returned to the kitchen due to undercooking. You sure are throwing away a lot of expensive salmon.
It was an unpleasant birthday meal. We probably won't be returning to this Smokey Bones location...

I came here as part of a large group to celebrate a family member’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish.
After placing our orders, we waited over an hour for our food with no communication from staff. Only after we began asking questions were we told that “the systems were down”—something that should have been communicated right away. To make matters worse, our food sat in the kitchen window visibly getting cold before it was finally brought out.
Despite the restaurant not being busy, our server Mary made very little effort to check on our table, offer drink refills, or keep us updated in a timely matter that made sense. Meanwhile, we noticed other guests were being served promptly and seemed to have no issues.
Once the food finally arrived, it took another hour to attempt to get our checks—only to then be told they were only accepting cash. This information should have been given upfront, before food was served. When we asked to speak to the manager, we were told he was “on the phone with tech support” and never came out to address the situation.
A different staff member eventually approached us and suggested we leave a 5-star review for Mary so that the manager would “take care of the bill.” They also encouraged us to tip Mary directly through Cash App. This felt incredibly unprofessional and manipulative.
To top it all off, after we left, we overheard staff complaining about our group, implying we tried to skip out on the bill—which was completely untrue. They mentioned the bill was “$300 with alcohol” and that “Mary doesn’t work for free,” as if we hadn’t tried repeatedly to pay and resolve the issue.
This experience was beyond frustrating, and I would strongly caution anyone considering dining here—especially with a group. The lack of communication, poor service, and unprofessional conduct were...
