I just left a review on the Connelly Springs location site and mentioned I was there today for lunch and drove over this evening to the new location for dinner. This is a two hour drive from my house in SC. Trust me I do not do this to go to any other restaurant. Let's face it, JD'S Smokehouse is not just any other restaurant. In a time of out of control inflation which is causing everything we buy to cost more than ever and in a time when people simply don't want to work it's absolutely refreshing to have a restaurant lime this to go to. It would be easier for them to cut quality and quantity to help their bottom line but thankfully they care about their customers and care about operating a first quality restaurant. Their costs on food and disposables have been constantly rising since 2020. So they have no choice but to increase their prices. I understand that challenge. I have no problem paying more to keep first quality food. We all need to support this family more than ever by going to eat and enjoy their food. You just can't go anywhere else and have this experience. It's also refreshing to see a staff of caring and friendly people who work so hard to make the experience exceptional for the customers. It got very busy when I was there this evening but it did not effect the level of service. They constantly kept coming by refilling my drink , asking if I was okay and if I needed anything, and thanking me for being there. Not just one person but three different people doing this. Thank you Matt and staff for another great dining experience. If you have not been to JD'S Smokehouse you are cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience and THE best BBQ, Brisket, Ribs, etc on this...
Read moreWhat a circus. We sat on the bench to read the menu and across the room the cashier starts yelling to take the order. Soon discovered the entire party must order together so JD can have the convenience of one ticket per table, regardless of whether the guests want to pay separately. At one point there were 4 different cashier people asking 4 different questions at the same time. And they still had to ask me the same questions again because of the other people asking their questions. Abbot and Costello couldn’t have written it better. Servers seemed to be bored since they asked every table every 2-3 minutes what they need. Even interrupted our prayer and said excuse me and kept talking. Pork and chicken were dry. GB casserole was good. Offering some ribs without a dry rub wouldn’t be difficult. I could probably enjoy eating here if I could just get past the ordering gauntlet. This review describes every previous visit so it’s not a fluke. Overheard others basically discussing the same thing. Management ought to pay more attention to the...
Read moreWell law they give you good big portions here. And they taste good too. The beef pork and chicken are all excellent and hit the spot. Them hot dogs are amazing but you need to have someone else with you since they give you 2. If a person ud eat both of them theys liabling to bust. Most of the sides are good, the only fault being putting cheese in them grits. Don't need no cheese at a BBQ joint, it's BBQ not BBC which is an English tv channel what used to show Benny Hill and such. Also my only bone of contention would be the lack of bread, I mean not even a slice of light bread to wipe the sauce from your face. Hush puppies or corncakes would be be the kicker. Reckon JD feels about bread like I do cheese so we're even I reckon. Reckon they'd git made if I brought in some light bread to wipe and sop with? If any of youns see JD ask him and let me know. I ain't talking a whole loaf or nothing just 2...
