Whataburger — Restaurant in Tyler

This staff went above and beyond to make sure we got the food we wanted. I thought I had ordered a new Monterey Chicken Melt sandwich, using a coupon. Instead, I bit into a delicious, smoking hot Monterey Melt hamburger. Unfortunately, I have not eaten beef in 38 years, and could not bring myself to eat another bite. The manager took it away and said they would fix me a Monterey Chicken Melt sandwich. It took a very long time, but it turns out they were out of chicken. They had made a trip to somewhere else to get the chicken for my sandwich! If I lived in Tyler, I would be their customer for life.

While we waited, we enjoyed looking around at the displays. The restaurant is a museum of guitar art, with concert posters, pictures, surfboards, and guitars, including some that belonged to Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Beach Boys. If you are driving through, it's worth a stop, just for the guitars alone. The food is good, too, though, or the staff will keep trying...

This and most Whataburger's get at least 4 star and usually 5 from me. I seem to recall getting Military discount in the past here. Other than that this is the only Whataburger I know of that does not offer one or the Lady didn't know how to do it but no big deal. I always order fries with no salt for 2 reasons. Don't like much salt and that usually means fresh. They were pretty cold but the nice lady got me a hot fresh order. When I went to pepper my Double Whataburger JR the vegetables were kind of in a glob. My visit was just after 11 on Memorial Day and not busy at all. May be reason for heat lamp fries but I seem to recall they do seasoning as soon as dumped in the strainer?? FYI, My deal is eat about half the fries before I open burger to insure they're hot. Visit 05/07/22 @ 9PM. None of the staff would even acknowledge people in the lobby to place an order. Ordered on the app ahead, couldn't pick up the food. Staff was too busy on a personal cell phone call to take orders. The quality of food was terrible. This place has gone so far down hill it's unbelievable. I won't be back. It's the closest whataburger to my house and so convenient... $30 of wasted money. The order was completely wrong. There were toppings missing that I paid extra for. The wrong size fries. Dipping sauce that I paid for were missing. When I finally got my food I left, I believe that my food would have been spat in if I questioned the staff. I could have gotten faster service, better customer service, and spent the same amount at a regular restaurant.
