I have been coming to this location for about 15 years, maybe since they opened it? Since the pandemic this place just gets worse with every visit. In around 4pm on a Friday, bar was about 50% full and a reservation party upstairs(which was almost to its end), no one in the dining area. Took about 8 minutes to be seated. Hostess seemed annoyed that I asked to be seated a few booths in and not by the door because it's cold outside with a draft there. Then the order of a bucket and appetizer took a long time, pizza was ok. But the kicker..asked for forks and was told they didn't have any because they were all dirty, but they could offer plastic to go forks! Then the pizza comes out and I'm guessing the spatulas must have been dirty so get your hands in the pizza to serve and box. It's a Friday night before dinner, there was only one other 2 person table seated after us. What in the actual f$@k you do not have 2 clean forks!?! Wow. I give up on coming here anymore, the pizza is not that great for the price, used to be way better. To note I am a store manger in retail for over 25 years, so I get it's hard to have good help and the struggle is real, but if this was my location and my staff, especially on a Friday night-have some standards and accountability and if the manger running this location can't make it happen then time to move them out.

This was my first time checking out The Rock in Covington and overall I had a really good experience. First off, parking is super easy — there’s a ton of it right out front, which takes away the usual headache of circling around looking for a spot. Inside, the vibe is pretty fun. It’s casual and laid back but with just enough energy that it feels lively. Music playing, people talking, but not so loud that you can’t hear the person across the table. I thought it struck a good balance. Service was solid from start to finish. Our server was friendly, got everything right, and checked in at the right times without hovering. For a first visit, that’s exactly what you want — you get a feel that the place runs smoothly and the staff know what they’re doing. The pizza itself was tasty. The wood-fired crust had a nice chew and just enough char to give it that smoky flavor. Toppings tasted fresh, and everything came out hot and well put together. Definitely felt like a step above your average pizza chain. The only real downside is the price. It’s not crazy expensive, but it is a bit on the higher side for pizza. Worth it for a treat or if you’re in the mood for something better quality, but probably not a weekly go-to for me. All in all, good food, good service, plenty of parking, and a solid first impression. I’d come back again.

Pizza had way to much cornmeal on it. Would take a bit of the pizza and it would be all over mouth, fingers, table, and napkin it was a mess had a couple of burnt cornmeal chunks on the bottom. Server told us was due to oven not being cleaned or wiped off between pizzas cooking. When server orders a pizza he/she tells the cooks to make sure it was cleaned before they made it. Chicken that was on pizza was rubbery kind of like they prepped it by boiling it freezing it then reheated shredded and used as a topping for the pizza. Sauce was bland. Salad didn't come tell 10 minutes after we got our pizza ended up giving it to us for free. Heard about the huge salads they have so we were intrested in trying one but right off the bat she told us they are not all that big anymore because they weigh them now lol. Dessert took way to long to come ended up canceling it. Server also said it was due to a lot of uber orders because I mentioned I didn't understand due to the fact it wasn't terribly busy inside. Server was nice and apologetic and house beer was good so between those it gets a one star.

I went to the rock on a Friday night.. and got the shattered nachos...I couldn't eat them all because the they were to salty at the top of the chips..I took the rest home and hopefully by morning they taste better..But it was so salty still!!!....I called at 11 am the manger on duty Joey said he would replace them...I even told him I would bring the nachos back..joey said ok on the phone..I get there and decided to eat there and order a drink and a order of bayou Cajun pasta I was going to pay for that..I just wanted a comp!! On the Nachos!!!..he comes to the table rude and close to me and says not giving up nachos you ate half of them..I said no I didn't it was so salty and I brought them back what is the problem? He says no way your not getting anything.. Now let me tell you am a black woman and my boyfriend is white..we got attitude because I was a African American women...why on the phone he said yes and then when he sees us..it's there's no way I'm re-making nachos for you.. Racism is still around..I was embarrassed not to mention I was the only black person in there at the time..why wouldn't he just remake the Nachos..I even was planning on getting more food besides nachos!!! Joey the manger on duty he is a heavy set white man who had no respect!!! and caused a situation Infront of all the other coustomers..he said yes on the phone before I came..but then no once he saw me he had told me he changed his mind.. As a black woman I felt embarrassed and tried to understand why he told me and my boyfriend no.. I had even made sure it was a yes on the phone before I came..so being told no was shocking and embarrassing...I feel personal once he saw I was black he just thought I was trying to scam him to get free food..I just wanted a remake on my salty nachos.. I know things are rough for some people but I can definitely afford nachos I just wanted to be treated fair and get a new fresh order of nachos without charge because they were so very salty..my boyfriend had been sick for a few weeks and I wanted to take him out withouy any problems..so this did very much affect my day and sweet time with a loved one.. I will never go back there because this is something I will never forget..plus last year was my first date with my now husband..it was a moment for us and we had respect for the Rock.. won't go there again... matter of fact my best friend Paula worked there and she has passed away...it was nice going there sometimes to have memories of her.. she would of told me to say something.. she was bossy like that in...

This is my second time at this location. After reviewing the first time and receiving a sincere apology from the manager along with a gift card I decided to give this location another chance. The second time was another fail sadly. My boyfriend and I went for lunch and showed up during a time where there was barely any people inside. Our server came and took our order very quickly, and it was off to a good start. We ended up waiting around 30-45 minutes for our food, I had seen it waiting behind the table where the cooks were at for a while and finally once receiving our food it was hot (my previous experience with this location, the food was barely warm). After we had received our food and had pretty much finished our food I was waiting for our server to come connect with us since she hadn't came by since dropping off our food. I had noticed her in the corner on her phone, and after looking back a couple times to her she noticed and finally came over to refill our drinks. Once she had filled our drinks and walked away we noticed she didn't give us napkins at all so we had to go to the bathroom in order to wipe our hands on something besides our clothes. Once returning, we noticed our waiter was back to sitting in the corner on her phone, she came over and asked if we needed the check ands brought it to us without saying a word. My boyfriend decided to tip her a couple dollars yet I was very disappointed in this location. After giving it a second chance I realized that many of the servers don't care to interact with their customers and create a welcoming and warm environment. I felt as though the workers are only there for the paycheck and will do whatever it takes to not interact with customers. Unfortunately we wont be returning to this location unless some changes are made...

Date of visit: 10/24/21 Time: 2:00 pm Number of guests: 4 Seating location: Bar

The reviews here are not an anomaly. I have been to several The Rock locations so I know how their service performs. Covington is not a good example and should not be held against the chain.

My visit as a guest of coworkers to the site was courteous. Staff was quite nice and the bar was well lit, spacious and laid out nicely.

Staff was at best undertrained, or perhaps just not experienced. They knew their alcoholic drinks and that was clearly their focus. I don't drink and was largely ignored once the Barq's root beer was delivered. I ordered fish and chips, curious as I had never had them at The Rock. In 40 minutes or so the order was brought to the table. Maybe that is normal for fish and chips? Place was at about 20% capacity, so it wasn't like they were busy.

No napkins. No cutlery. No tartar sauce. Couldn't get Staff attention and had to go to the front door to get some service attention. They were honestly confused why I would need cutlery for fish and chips. I pointed out Cole slaw salad is not a finger food. Fries were cold, but the beer batter on the fish was good. Fish itself was undercooked, but they probably don't have experience with fish much.

Glass of ice water would have been better had they washed the glass before use. Ice water does not have a heavy lager beer flavor normally. Sorry, the dishes and glasses were not clean.

In short, food was poor, servants friendly but ignorant and untrained in food service or preparation.

I will go back to The Rock, but not to the...
