We came to this coffee shop after passing up so many because, on their website they had a beautiful picture of "latte artwork". When we got there the guy taking the order was great but failed to ask if we wanted to go or dine-in. Not a big deal his customer service was great. The problem was with a girl "Brilley " making the order. When she called out my name to pick up my order. One of the drinks was in a tagoku period. I I explained to her that it was not to go it was for here and she asked me Can she just pour it into a mug? Unfortunately the whole reason of going over there was to review the latte artwork. Brilley let me know if she had to remake it would not have as much coffee in the mug. I told her my drink was fine but my wife needed the mug with latte art. She wad doing such a great job on everyone else, but told me she doesn't think she could do it again. I watched her make 4 look consistent before me. She insisted on just pouring the to go cup in mug. I asked her just remake in mug, she got upset and through the to coffee in the small sink behind her and it splashed all over the wall. Then she stated it would be awhile she was gonna make the other customers that were after us first. I went and sat with my wife and watched her from a far angrily make my wife's coffee she poured half the correct amount of espresso in a shot glass I guess that's what she ment by letting me know if she remade it would not have as much coffee. I guess to compensate for the lack of coffee she started the milk and it was so much that she ended up overflowing and burning her hand. I'm sure being in Texas the manager on duty reported the incident as at least report only to their insurance to protect the company. So we waited for the coffee and finally some one made our hot milk with a pinch of coffee. For sure there was a glob of sugar at the bottom of cup plenty. My wife wasn't able to review the artwork for her company as she hoped to do. But on these photos you can see what White Rhino's entry might be. Or maybe we will try a diffrent location not sure yet. If downtown Dallas Elm st location is franchised out to anyone that cares maybe we will see a difference in service. Just a word of advice treat everyone like you are being of service you never know who is walking through your door. Alot of time anger in the work place causes accidents, so keep emotions under control when you don't get what you want you could have gotten hurt way worse or hurt the customers as well. I hope you are feeling...
Read moreThis little cafe in Downtown Dallas packs a big punch! Even though this cafe is in the Lone Star State, there should be 4 other stars on permanent loan to this place.
Reasons for those five stars?
The coffee! Often, cafes tend to offer many options to customers. While this helps a customer with options, it can often be a lot. There are two sizes, large or small. (This can also be viewed as "Texas-sized" or "non Texas-sized.") You pick one, you get it, and it comes with delicious coffee. Some coffees come in only the small size, such as the pour-over or nitro, but why overload your body with anxious rocket fuel? Savor this delightful cuppa with sips.
Reason #2, the dietary options. While gluten free avocado toast is available, the breakfast sandwiches come prepackaged, so there are limitations. Vegan and regular I-can-enjoy-wheat options are available, too! And they do have a GF baked good, and it's a brownie. And we bought them 3 times. Every time we went in there.
The third reason for White Rhino getting five stars is their commitment to more sustainable packaging. The avocado toast, a staple of the Millenial hipster, also came in a paper tray!
First responders drink free coffee here if they are on duty. It was comforting to see members of the community in all its forms visiting this space, and I appreciate White Rhino's impact they make. I hope they have continued success, and I recommend you try their coffee...
Read moreOkay so this rating is more about the baristas than the coffee. So my husband, sister, best friend all love the coffee. It's a good shop you will like it. It was too hot for me to get coffee that day. (Ain't their fault, it's just summer in Texas). Anyways, the baristas were amazing. Being downtown they see everybody come through. We got our drinks and sat down then a lady start banging on the bathroom door from the inside. Turns out she had her nails did and can't open the door for herself.... okay. The baristas were nice let her out and we all shared a good laugh. From there on they were super personable and we chatted with them during our visit. They made our stop 10000x more fun. They handled the lady well. Also a homeless person came in to escape the heat and get some water. The baristas made no fuss about it and got them water without making it a big ordeal. It was good to see...
