Food is good. Seafood is my favorite thing and I was not disappointed. Everything I had was very fresh. The problem is that the bar area in this place is incredibly unhygienic. I would NEVER order a drink from here that wasn't just wine or beer. Any drink that has a garnish or even ice is a risk. It was so bad i would not be surprised if I later read about a food borne illness breakout to the likes of norovirus, e.coli. or salmonella.
First off there is no washing of hands but I observed the handling of money, people's credit cards, and these Toast brand card swipe devices that everyone is touching to add their tips (and we all know people who visit the restroom and do not wash their hands) and this is what is happening while there is picking up of mint, lemon, orange slices, palming (!) the ice going into glasses and anything else you can think of that wasn't a straight pour. I wanted to vomit I was so disgusted but just decided to never ever order drinks here and maybe insist a printed receipt to avoid what is likely a petri dish masquerading as card swipers. Not once was soap and water used to clean hands.
Regular germs are not a problem for anyone who will think I am being over the top. It's how most of us build immunity. Our environment is probably too sterilized today. But it's the 'bugs" that are found because of unsanitary practices (norovirus spread is an example) are not for immunity. This is a place that serves food. Not a daycare.
In all serious what I witnessed is pretty scary from a health and sanitation standpoint. Again I would go back because the seafood is good and I have to pray the kitchen has higher standards because the health department would be all over that kind of lax attitude towards sanitation and hygiene, but I would avoid the bar, mixed drinks and demand a...
Read moreI am absolutely FURIOUS about my recent pickup order from Seamore's in Darien! What I experienced wasn't just disappointing—it was a complete and utter SCAM.
The "Shrimp" Tacos: A $18 JOKE: Let me be crystal clear: the $18 shrimp tacos were OFFENSIVE. The shrimp were bone-dry and completely flavorless. No sauce. No seasoning. NOTHING! Just sad, withered shrimp wrapped in bland tortillas. I've had better seafood from GAS STATION sushi! Eighteen dollars for this garbage?
The "Bass": An INSULT to Paying Customers When I specifically asked if the bass portions were decent, the employee told me "yes." What I got instead was REVOLTING—two TINY pieces of fish, literally THUMB-SIZED, drowning in a disgusting puddle of soggy, wet vegetables. This wasn't a meal; it was an INSULT packaged in a takeout container. THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS for what amounted to about three bites of the most pathetic excuse for seafood I've ever encountered! I could have thrown my money directly into the ocean and gotten better value! This wasn't just overpriced—it was a ripoff all around.
The cruel irony that my name is Seymur and I got completely SCAMMED by Seamore's isn't lost on me. But there's nothing funny about wasting hard-earned money on food like this. Whoever is cooking up the food back there really needs to go back to culinary school. I told all my friends to stay away from this place. I still can't believe I spent close to 50$ dollars. It's such a rip-off. Save your money, go eat some place in Norwalk...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant in hopes for some good poke bowl and had a disappointing experience. I ordered the sangria, expecting a refreshing and flavorful drink, but instead, it tasted like pure water with no real flavor at all. It was completely unbalanced, and I couldn't enjoy it at all.
To make matters worse, the food wasn't as good as I had expected, especially considering the high prices. The dishes lacked the quality and flavor I was hoping for, and I felt it didn't live up to the standard I anticipated.
On top of that, the service I received from the waitress was less than satisfactory. She seemed disinterested and lacked any sense of personality or warmth when interacting with the customers. Her attitude was cold and unwelcoming, making the entire dining experience feel uncomfortable. A positive, friendly demeanor is so important when serving guests, and unfortunately, that was missing during my visit.
Overall, I left feeling very disappointed by the quality of both the food and the drink, along with the...
