This place is by far not authentic Chinese or Vietnamese. I ordered the Shrimp Chow Mein and requested a Vietnamese dish which caught them off guard, called "Banh Xeo." First of all the chow mein was way too sweet. I come from a family which owned a 4 star Chinese restaurant and know what real food tastes like. I also requested MSG to be added before placing my order and the owner told me they don't have MSG in the restaurant. A real Chinese restaurant SHOULD have MSG whether or not its added in their dishes or even the substitute granulated chicken flavor soup mix. I would be much happier if they substituted the sauce in my chow mein for oyster sauce. The shrimp was not fresh at all. Good thing I took this to go and ate it at home. I had to squeeze a lot of Sriracha sauce on top to cover up the overly sweet chow mein.
As for the Banh Xeo, the Vietnamese fried crepe was decent. They got the flour down on the crepe but the sauce "nuoc mam" was thick like syrup and not enough red chillis. I can see why a lot of caucasians who eat out at so called "Chinese" restaurants end up getting diabetes.
Food is not authentic and is catered to Americans. I gave them a chance to make true Chinese and Vietnamese food but they failed miserably. If your Asian and looking for a decent meal stay away...
Read moreWhenever I go to a restaurant that has Bun Thit Nuong with the eggrolls, I always get it. Some are better than others, I've never had one that was bad... before today. Noodles were way too soft, the pork was the same dyed red pork you find in some Chinese dishes and not grilled at all like the description. It should have fresh herbs, but this had none. And the egg roll was easily the worst I've ever had. It was, in fact, the 2nd worst thing I've ever put in my mouth. The filling was some sort of pureed meat(?) with onion powder. The only reason it gets 2 stars is that the service was fast and attentive. My wife got the same thing and she hated it. In fact, she had to stop eating because she was getting physically ill and that has never happened to her before. She has a stomach of steel. Maybe the rest of their food is good, but if this is any...
Read moreOutstanding service. Polite and attentive. Clean environment. Cozy. Facilities meet all expectations of cleanliness with basic amenities. The food, however, far exceeds my extremely critical and demanding expectations. The ingredients are quality and fresh. Typical "Chinese" dishes are anything but typical. The sauces are built by the chef so there is no "standard, out of the box" taste that typically covers the full gambit of menu items. So that means each dish has its own unique complexity and subtlety of flavor and texture. The Vietnamese selections do credit to their French influence with delicate soups and skillfully crafted noodle selections. I cannot stress enough the level of satisfaction I have experienced with each visit. I HIGHLY recommend the egg foo young selections. I have veggies and spice added to my preference....
