Have eaten here twice and tried food from the melt, Nash and proper and the Japanese menu.

The melt was super disappointing, got the grilled cheese with mac and cheese on it. The macaroni didn't taste like it had any cheese on it somehow, just tasted like plain noodles. Definitely don't recommend the melt.

Nash and proper was OK at best, way less flavorful than the Sacramento location. Got the cluckin hot tenders and was surprisingly not very spicy and again, pretty flavorless.

From the Japanese menu I order the tuna bowl and my friend ordered the chicken karage. The tuna tasted very low quality, and just tasted fishy, no hint of tuna flavor. If you're looking for Japanese food I recommend trying yakatori instead, for poke try good friends or Zuma poke. The karage was ok, probably the only halfway decent thing I've tried.

When ordering on the app, nearly half of the menu items are listed "out of stock" at any time. Pretty disappointing overall after having tried 3 of their 5 menus.

It also looks like a lot of the early reviews were written in exchange for free shirts and other promos so take them with a grain of salt. A lot of them are written extremely similar and don't seem...

Wow! I went to local kitchens for the first time last week in Sacramento and I was blown away and kept thinking about the Birria tacos. So today on the way home from the Bay area, I stopped in at local kitchens in Davis before all of the crazy traffic on the causeway. I didn't want to be starving sitting in traffic today.

I ordered the same thing: Birria tacos, the Strawberry Matcha Latte Boba drink and something new today was the fried cauliflower. The fried cauliflower blew me away! the spices, the flavor, the sauce. It wasn't greasy. It was perfectly fried and the chimichurri sauce.( I think that's what it was that was, excellent.)

The Birria tacos were even better than the ones in Sacramento because they had more meat. This is quickly becoming my favorite lunch spot! The only nitpicks I have is with the boba drink. The straws they use are terrible. They break as soon as you insert them into the drink and if you're lucky they will last through your whole drink because they will crack. The other nitpick was only with the boba drink in that I didn't get enough oat milk, but that didn't detract from how great...

Do not trust the online reservation system for collab events. It’s just clickbait to get you to download the app, and ultimately serves no purpose.

I registered for the event and showed my ticket, but was told the food giveaway was already over—even though people arriving after me were still getting in no problem. The event staff assured me that I could get an equivalent amount of credit if I registered an Eventbrite account and returned after the event. A week later, no credit appeared. Turns out, Eventbrite stopped issuing credit since early 2024.

I had to walk away exhausted and starving. Wouldn’t even have been as frustrated if the staff had just been upfront that the giveaway was over and flyers mentioned no registration required. Instead, a "fake" registration was used to bait people in, and because of the event I can't even buy stuff with my own wallet until it's over. What is the point of registration if it was nothing but a fake pdf?

I'll give them credit for the food quality, but I won't be supporting them again. Be aware of their future...

I am so sorry to give this review because the service is really good and I think the idea behind the restaurant is valuable, but the food is disgusting. I got a sake burrito that I think was the worst I’ve ever tried, the salmon used was clearly not fresh (I am writing this review from the toilet), the Israeli salad was missing a lot of flavour and so did the chicken bowl, which looks delicious in the picture but is was a mix of not so fresh rice and reheated chicken. This food was way overpriced for the quality offered.

An interesting variety of foods in one location (the old Pluto's spot) good for when you really can't decide where to go. The place is geared around online ordering and takeout, with kiosks for ordering instead of a menu and cashier. There is some dine-in seating available. They have some good online discounts and a loyalty program. Numerous Veggie options available. Food was prepared very quickly, especially for opening day. Flavorful and good portions, overall quite excellent!
