Came in around noon for lunch on Father's Day to a fairly empty restaurant. We let the bartender who sat us at a booth inside the dining area know that we had reservations, to which he replied, "That's ok." Less than average food, slow service, and limited beer selections. We were hoping for more despite the other average reviews. Restaurant and brewery per the name. For a restaurant, the food was below average. Started by asking about the brew selections. A stout would be nice. No, no stouts. Ok, it's kind of a limited brew menu on the table. So, nothing jumped out from the menu, so I ordered a Yuengling and asked for a sample of their Red Ale. Out came the Yuengling ($6.25) but no red ale. Wanted to sample the red ale before the Yuengling. Asked later about the forgotten red red ale and waitress admitted to forgetting it and brought a sample in a small shot glass. Later, I noticed another beer menu on the wall with some different brews we would probably have got a flight of, but it was too late for us. Next, we ordered a small Caesar salad ($7), which had too much dressing. Ugh! Waitress recommended their burgers and something called "Chicken Fried Chicken." Cheeseburger with fries ($17.50) was just average, and the Chicken Fried Chicken " was lacking in sauce. By the time the waitress came back so we could ask for more gravy, the burger was about done, and the chicken was half eaten. No one stopped by to ask how things were, and neither did the waitress, so that's too bad. The chicken fried chicken was left half eaten on the table, and the waitress didn't bother to ask if we wanted to take the leftovers to go. I guess she knew the answer. We remarked, to ourselves, that the plates were hotter than the food, I guess that tells you something in and of itself. Later, on the way home, we figured out maybe it's more of a tourist destination, even though we live in Daytona Beach, and maybe that's why the food, service and brewery selections are subpar. There appeared to be a manager on duty, but he wasn't stopping by any tables to tables to check on the clientele or send any Father's Day greetings. One and done for us after we...
Read moreStopped in last night on the way to the airport to grab a quick meal and a couple beers with my wife. Ordered the salmon Strawberry Salads for both of us plus the Fruity Stout. Ill give the beer a 3 star, my third time here and that seems to be the trend.... Just a typical chain feel microbrew, drinkable but nothing special. My bigger issue was with my meal, it came out quick which was great as we were pressed for time, we sat at the bar so the male bartender served my wife first with a nice piece of Salmon over the skimpy bed of lettuce greens. The bigger problem was mine where the fish was half covered with lettuce and for good reason it was 2 separate pieces of Salmon that resembled a chicken nugget more than Salmon. I stared in disbelief for a minute then tried to get the bartenders attention. He was purposely avoiding me initially as he knew I had been screwed. I was starving so I started to eat and he finally came over to ask how our meals were. My wife said hers was fine and I said I was disappointed as it looked like 2 leftover chicken, nuggets on my salad. He said he questioned the cooks when he picked it up as he knew there was an issue and they said give it to them its the same weight as the other one. I'm 56 and not born yesterday, I know the difference between two small well done leftovers and a real piece of fish. My wife's fish had great taste and was cooked fine, the salad was fair and skimpy. Mine was a disaster, with no offer from the staff to have a manager come out which was in order. My suspicion is we probably got the last pieces they had and I got the shaft. So instead of ordering anything else we paid our tab of $45 for 2 salads and a beer each and still left close to a 20% tip even though he probably didn't deserve it , but he at least came clean and was embarrased. From some of the other reviews and lack of management response they obviously have a don't care what the customer thinks policy. I live in Ormond half the year and won't be rushing back...
Read moreThis is the last place I would recommend someone to go. From the start it wasn’t good, the hostess didn’t ask if we wanted to sit in the rooftop, and sat us at a dirty booth and downstairs that was extremely loud. When we did realize there was a rooftop we asked if we could move there (this was before any drinks or food was ordered.) Our waitress came to the table after 10 minutes, didn’t say hi or smile and said “what can I get you.” We have never been here before and didn’t know you weren’t able to order all of the beers that were given to you on the menu. (Some beers are only served downstairs) and the waitress was far from helpful on explaining what could be ordered and not. Then our beer and wine came in plastic cups which I was not impressed by, I ordered a house salad with my meal and asked what was on it because I know I’m slightly picky when it comes to what’s on my Salad, the waitress said “oh it’s a typical house salad, you know lettuce tomato.” Okay that’s fine with me, the salad shows up with a mound of raisins and sunflowers seads. This is not something I would consider “normal” for a salad. 10$ for two cheese egg rolls that were described with chicken, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and cheese came out with only loads of greasy cheese. Finally our meal came, we got a burger and asked for mayo she said okay maybe we have it, they didn’t have any upstairs and then proceeded to tell us we’d have to wait since she would have to go downstairs to find it... the menu has multiple burgers on it and I can’t imagine we’re the only people that use mayo on ours? When she brought it up it was mayo packets! Not to mention she never once refilled my water. All in all the service and food was bad and I would never choose to...
