I read the one star reviews concerning racism and they're bothersome, but my husband and I were the only people of color in the restaurant on Thursday for lunch and did not experience racism. The waiter was sweet and a manager asked twice how everything was. Maybe there's more racism at night?? Hope not. Establishments need to be very careful. The most important color is GREEN. Central Pennsylvania is full of racists but POC are moving in from wealthier areas like NY, DC. We're from Alexandria VA. We don't experience racism at restaurants but 2 weeks ago received racial profiling at Target on Jonestown Rd! See my review. It was disturbing & disgusting and still bothers me. My husband was tailed over Nespresso Vertuo coffee pods! I confronted the shift supervisor in person later in the month. I think this restaurant should hire people of color as staff to look more diverse. The Mill has a diverse wait staff. In any case, we liked this restaurant. We liked the look and vibe. It looks like restaurants in Shirlington, Fairfax. The food was good. I got the bowl of gumbo and a mesclun salad. They have a good selection of salads. Husband got the beef stroganoff. I like this restaurant better than Gilligan's, Longhorn, and Duke's. For American cuisine, this place is pretty good and service we received was good. Our preferred cuisine is Thai, Korean and Indian plus most diners. However, this place has a lot of parking in the back, nice selections, and has a nice atmosphere with great soul music. We will be back. I think our bill was only $49. Did not order beer.

Wow. Where do I start with such an overall amazing experience. The food was delicious with every bite. We had the Philly egg rolls and the pretzel sticks. Came out hot and fast! The Philly egg rolls were absolutely packed full of meat, and the pretzel sticks were perfectly browned! (We love pretzel sticks but it seems most places over bake them) You can always tell how great the meals will be based off of the apps and with that being said, our expectations were very high. As soon as we were done with our appetizers came our meals at the perfect pace. I had the fish tacos, so fresh, so tasty! My partner had the bangers and mash with a pumpkin ale. AGAIN. So hot and fresh. I truly do not have one complaint with the meals served. The ale was smooth with notes of pumpkin, perfect for this time of year. I don’t think you could get one bad meal here. Finishing our meals with the dessert was icing on the cake. The brownies with caramel, nuts, whip cream…. Yum. Now the service was nothing short of spectacular. Our server Jen, if you have the pleasure of being served by her, you will experience a personalized and attentive time. She was quick on her feet, a warm personality, and just a lovely professional server. Dan came by at the end to clear a plate and stopped to talk to us. It’s always refreshing to see a leader clearing plates, walking food, talking to customers. The teamwork at this place was great. We come to Hershey every year and this will most definitely be added to our “must stop at” from here on.

Rating: 3/5 👨👩👦 Party of 3 (including child) We were visiting Hershey and needed a close, easy dinner spot after a long day. This restaurant is just a 3-minute drive from our hotel, so we decided to stop in without a reservation. We were seated quickly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the dining experience didn’t go smoothly. We ordered two medium-rare burgers, but both came out well-done. I ordered sweet potato fries (an upgrade), but they were burnt and half a portion. I sent them back and got a fresh batch, which was better. Oddly, we were charged for three burgers instead of two—likely because of the remake. Josh (the manager, I believe) was excellent. He brought out extra sauces, apologized for the mix-ups, removed the extra burger from the bill, and gave us a 20% discount. He really did his best to make things right. Unfortunately, our server (an older woman) seemed very irritated throughout the meal. She was passive-aggressive, visibly annoyed when I sent things back (even though the issues were genuine). She didn’t bring utensils for my child’s kids’ meal, which are usually offered. When I asked for two glasses of water, she brought only one. 📝 Final thoughts: I would still recommend this place because the food (once corrected) was decent, and management handled the situation well. But I really hope the staff can be trained to handle mistakes with more patience. I’m not saying customers are always right—but the order we pay for should at least be correct, and we shouldn’t feel bad for pointing that out.

With a scratch kitchen and creative brewed flavors in the mix, most meals and drinks here are delicious. Our birthday boy wanted to go here for his special meal out, and we had a delightful meal as a party of seven. Burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, pork loin, and a pizza were our selections, along with the brussel sprout starter. Brussels were the biggest hiccup of the meal - they were overdone and dried out like kale chips. Our server had them fire another batch, and it was much improved. Still alot of dried outer leaves compared to oven roasted, but the seasonings and the hearts of these were in tact and tasty. Burgers were juicy and well seasoned. Pulled pork and pork tenderloin were delicious. The pizza had a cheese that tasted a bit like the fridge or like a detergent. I noticed the same flavor with the cheese on my drunk monk burger. It didn't seem bad, just a strange flavor. Server was friendly and attentive, and wished our family member a happy birthday (only perk for birthdays here). Our only consistent negative in this restaurant, and it's similar for all the Hershey downtown eateries, is the sound treatments. It's SO hard to hear each other, even when the restaurants are only moderately busy. We leave feeling like we were shouting at each other, knowing we missed half the conversations, and needing a quiet room for our heads to stop ringing.....every time. Solid recommend for food and service. Bring noise dampening ear plugs, or try to sit in the back room if it is open.

We enjoyed the food and beer here. Only two issues that keep me from giving five stars. First, we literally ordered five different beers before we found one that they actually had in stock. This may seem minor, but the place opened at 11:30 a.m. and we were there at 11:29 a.m. (We were literally the second party to be seated). We would order a beer, and the waiter would leave only to come back a few minutes later to apologize for being out of that beer. Since the place had just opened, I would expect them to have an updated menu (or to have at least instructed the staff on which items were not in stock). This wasted our time, and I actually felt bad for the waiter who had to keep coming back and apologizing for not having what was on the menu. Second, my husband ordered the crabcake sandwich, which was on the Chef's Table menu. The description read that it would come with a remoulade sauce, but it actually showed up with a tartar sauce. These are not the same. When asked to replace it, our waiter said "This is a remoulade sauce. It's just a fancy way of saying it." I have to admit, I felt some kind of way about how we were "educated" on this. Again, not the same sauce. And, it is disappointing that we knew this and the waiter didn't (or perhaps the chef didn't know, despite it being a "Chef's Table" special).
