Smoked Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Derry Township

I've had a lot of BBQ, this is in my bottom 3 of all time. I wanted to like it, but the only good thing about it was the look. We got the "whole hog" so that we could try everything, and what a disappointment. Bland bland flavors. Ribs were so tough we couldn't even eat them (they also don't remove the silver skin which didn't help the issue). The wings were ok, but I can't say for sure they were actually smoked. The pulled meats were dry and flavorless. Didn't even try the sausage but my wife said it was not good. Brisket was bland and not tender as well. In addition to this, I was charged for a Pepsi that I never received. The server was just not good. Took a bit for her to even come take our drink orders, so we gave her our entire order at once so there were no more delays. She was kind, but just not great at serving. Once she brought our check, it seemed like it was going to be a while before we saw her to take it back to process, after a few minutes I put my $100 bill back in my wallet and made exact payment in cash and left. Go ahead and review this footage and see that we left more than half of our food behind instead of taking it with us. I don't want to bash the place, but it just wasn't good in any aspect.

(Reply to owners comments: This isn't a duplicate review as you want to categorize it as, but clearly bad enough that my wife and I needed to comment. We didn't complain because we aren't trying to get anything for free. I would like to note that the table next to us complained about their meal while we waited for our food. If you want to consider tender ribs as "over cooked, then I would say what you are serving is " raw" ribs to be fair. Ribs can have a chew to them, but what we were served was unabled to...

Terrible service!!! Do not go to this place if your time is valuable… We entered the restaurant, after 17 minutes of waiting at the door, we were “welcomed” at by unfriendly woman who told us to give her 1 minute and from then on we waited 10 minutes more. She told that she needed a minute to clean up the tables but even by the end that we were up to leave “those tables” were not cleaned yet which is disturbing when you see dish jam in front of you.

…The disappointment didn’t stop at the wait times and service. When our meal finally arrived, it was a further letdown. I had ordered the steak, expecting a high-quality meal given its status as the most expensive option on the menu. However, what I received was the exact opposite. The steak was predominantly fat, with very little actual meat. More than half of it was inedible fat, which was not only disappointing but also surprising given the price and supposed quality.

Despite ordering the most expensive meal, I found myself unable to eat even half of it due to its poor quality. To add insult to injury, we noticed that people who had arrived before us received their meals almost at the same time as us, highlighting a lack of efficiency in the kitchen alongside the evident issues with food quality.

The only good thing was coke which is ridiculous.

Overall, my experience at Smoked Bar & Grill was deeply disappointing across all aspects. From the service and wait times to the quality of the meal itself, nothing seemed to justify the amount of money spent. Paying $90 for two people for such an experience is simply not worth it. I regret choosing this restaurant and hope others take heed of this warning before deciding...

Brothers in arms....and all first responders beware! I'm am posting this insult to all for whom this applies. Pics I have posted are the before and after " so called" 10% discount. Also have pic of menu where it is visibly displayed. I have never been so offended from the lack of respect/ appreciation I received today. I'm am almost certain I am not alone and urge others to hold this establishment accountable for the insult given in this transaction. When I called restaurant to speak to manager....I was told she was not available (busy) and I could try again later I will not waste any more of my time with this place....and I urger any future patrons to enjoy meals elsewhere.

Edit....I have attached 2 more photos. One of which is my plate with all 3 food items are served together...drink and appetizer are on separate plates. Please feel free to double check my math since you acknowledged the $1.15 military discount which you gave us. Even if you choose not to include my wife's meal under the discount ,it is still substantially short. This is not about the money mind you...it's all principal. FYI...$12.00 cash tip was left for waitress. Your busy manager watched me take pic of menu.....never came to ask if she could assist. If you want to reply again...please post it here....the people living and visiting Hershey deserve to finish this wonderful story.
