This review is probably my saddest review yet! We have lived four blocks from Pedro's for almost 3 years. It's been our go-to place for Mexican food the whole time. This is the second time we have been disappointed with them in a month. The first time, I chalked it up to a bad night, so I refrained from posting, but two in a row is crazy! We ordered the Trio Fajitas for $24.99, three of the #13 side beef tacos for $3.75ea, and two of the #13 side pastor tacos for $8.49ea. The Trio Fajitas were the smallest I've ever seen in a Mexican restaurant. They are usually much larger for that price compared to other restaurants. It was the first time we've ordered this here, so we didn't know. The real issue was that the chicken & steak was extremely dry and overcooked. The shrimp & vegetables were very good. The food runner dropped the included flour tortillas on the ground and then just picked them up and handed them to my wife. I know they are wrapped in foil but still should've offered another one. When I ordered my side tacos, I just asked our server, Jenn, to please not put lettuce on them, and of course, they all had lettuce on them. Normally, I would've just removed the lettuce, but it was chopped or shredded, and there was a ton of it underneath everything else. No big deal, except when I asked if she would take them back and get them corrected, she argued that I said no tomatoes, not no lettuce. The funny thing is that they all had tomatoes too! Once she corrected the mistake, everything was good. The prices were way too high for the Fajitas and the pastor tacos, but they didn't charge us for the side of sour cream. I guess that's good. Probably won't go back for a while. In Destin, there is no shortage of Mexican restaurants! Right next door is Pepitos. In The Commons, we like El Jalisco's or down near Target, we like Que Pasa Mexican Kitchen, and even the small Burritacos next to Destin ER that shares a fuel station & only has three tables is better!
