Just left this place and we are not happy. We arrived at 1:04pm. At around 2pm, I complained to the manager about the slow service. He became slightly defensive (instead of empathetic and helpful) which is a no-go in this industry. We were served at exactly 2:04pm, which was about 40 minutes after being seated. The place was not crowded at all. We ordered french toast, bacon, and an omelette. The french toast was horrible. They may as well call it an egg sandwich because it tasted like plain white bread with an overcooked egg on top. The omelette was greasy, but I definitely appreciated the use of seemingly fresh tomatoes, spinach, onions and other ingredients. The house potatoes were decent. The Bellini I had wasn't properly mixed. Something resembling syrup sat in the bottom of the glass. The OJ tasted a little like Minute Maid and could have been colder. In terms of service, Edna was just ok. Neither her or the young lady who took our name and walked us to our seat smiled or made us feel truly welcomed. We asked for a seat near the window and despite two booths being available near a window, she refused to seat us there, citing it's reserved for parties. ( The booths remained empty for the duration of our visit). The hostess and waitress weren't "rude" per say, but I expected a higher degree of hospitality in a place that advertises itself as "upscale." The interactions with these three employees was on par with that of an east side McDonald's drive thru or Coney Island during lunch hour. As a 44 year old woman with children close to their ages, I hated being called "sweetheart" by the waitress. I feel it is quite condescending and disrespectful. Grandmothers have earned the privilege of calling middle-aged women "sweetheart." Twenty somethings have not. The restroom needed to be cleaned. It wasn't filthy or smelly or anything like that, but there was urine all over the toilet. Overall, this was not even a "good" experience. We were greatly disappointed. Our very first visit to this place a few months ago was exceptional all the way around. The guy who took our name and seated us, the waitress, the food, the wait time, the cleanliness of the ladies room, the interaction with the manager who proactively came to check on us...everything about that visit was simply delightful and impressive. We were so eager to return and finally got the chance to do so. We came in hopeful and hungry, but we left disappointed and dissatisfied. Ownership ( because "management" is lacking) should revisit with their employees customer expectations related to the hospitality and food service industry. We have been to several other places that were "short staffed" and still experienced exceptional service with timely delivery of food that was far more complex than an omelette and french toast. I hope they learn to do better...
Read moreHappy new year ! Went out for breakfast this morning & came here. Worst mistake. I have worked in restaurants so a lot of things I can look passed as a customer. Like excessive wait times, servers being under intense pressure, etc. This experience was too horrible though. After we were seated, we ordered our food. I ordered a western omelette with a side of hash browns. Our waitress Shantel informed me they were out of hash browns & I ordered house fries instead. My friend ordered chicken & waffles with a side of house fries. While waiting for our food, Shantel told us they were out of house fries instead of the has browns, so I could get my hash browns but my friend could no longer get house fries. While waiting for the food still, Shantel told us they actually did have house fries, okay good. When the food finally arrived, I got house fries on my plate instead of hash browns. I asked Shantel did they actually not have hash browns instead. She said they did & doesn’t know why I still got house fries instead of hash browns if they do have them. She told me she’d have them make me some and I could keep the house fries without charge. Everything was a disaster. The house fries were COLD ! And on top of them being cold, it seemed like someone just dumped seasoning salt all over them. Both mine & my friends were. My omelette was terrible. Room temperature at best, then I opened it so I could season it & took a take & it tasted like I was eating a quesadilla. It was too cheesy & not in a good way like the cheese tasted off, then the other ingredients in the omelette were not good either. May have been over cooked. When Shantel brought out my hash browns they were steaming hot not complaining about that but just to point out the different food temperatures. We told her multiple times about the food being cold & she never said anything about it any time we brought it up. Ignored the comments all together. I told her about my omelette & she told me that since I ate the inside of the omelette I can only get $4 taken off my bill. The picture attached was exactly how my plate looked right before we left. Look at the omelette barely touched. Then to add to the horrible experience, we were seated in the back of the restaurant & it was freezing back there. We had to eat in our coats the whole time...
Read moreOverall a terrible experience. We waited half an hour for a table, which was fine, they were busy. We ordered our food right away and waited two hours for it. They brought my husband’s eggs benedict and my side of eggs first, then I still waited ten minutes for mine. The side of eggs was over cooked, as well as cold and dried out, like they’d been sitting under the heat lamp for an hour. I ate them because at this point it had been over two hours since we’d been seated and I was starving. The eggs benedict was gross, literally inedible. The eggs were hard boiled all the way through, not runny at all. The sauce was coagulated and dried with a skin on top because the plate had sat under the heat lamp in the kitchen for who knows how long. The ham was rock hard, almost impossible to cut through. The potatoes were unequivocally bland, it seemed like they had just paprika and not a single other seasoning, not even salt. It did not get eaten. The stuffed hash brown special finally came, and I don’t have a particular complaint about it but it just didn’t taste good. The cheese had a weird, gross taste to it. The sausage gravy was supposed to be on top, but thankfully it came in a cup because it was nasty. Undercooked, tasted like flour, and broken so the fat was separated. I ate maybe half of my meal. We got 1 strawberry margarita that was mediocre at best, thankfully it was only $3. The manager comped us $15 for the eggs benedict, but I regret not just putting a $10 bill on the table for the eggs and margarita that were consumed and leaving. Prices were very high for breakfast, so our expectations were high. Everything on the menu was way too expensive, especially for the horrible quality. Service was bad, and 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill. I’m sure this is because the service sucks so no one wants to tip their servers. I don’t blame them. To top it off, the bathrooms were very dirty which made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen. My husband is a chef and I worked in restaurants for years, so we both know that this place could have been worlds better. Massively disappointing, straight up awful restaurant. I don’t recommend, go literally anywhere else. Hot dogs from 7/11 would have been a...
