I had booked a stay here for our recent family vacation since it was part of a package. When we arrived at the hotel immediately our rental car after our red-eye flight, I came to find out the hotel CANCELED my reservation without my knowledge. Like any other hotel, I purposefully booked the day before to ensure an early check-in for after our red-eye flight. There was no way we could wait until 4:00pm that day with a two year old. Apparently, only timeshare owners can book the day before they intend to arrive. I had to argue with the staff, then the manager, to either give me the room I reserved or refund me. I could not understand why, when you provide contact information, no one contacts you in a situation like this. They literally were trying to just take my money with no explanation.
Well.....We finally did get a room, which was not as described in my original booking and looked nothing like the pictures provided. There was only one king in one room and two doubles in the other; not three king beds. The queen pull-out bed in the living room was dirty and disgusting with crumbs and stains. We just decided to stay here since we were all very tired and hungry since this whole fiasco took several hours to "resolve."
All I can tell you is that this place is disgusting and not worth "owning" any part of it. I originally booked a 2 bed, 2 bath suite, and from the original booking pictures, it looked fantastic. Because of the above-mentioned fiasco, the manager could only give us a room in their Veranda building, room 1202. That room looked nothing like what I expected. All I can say is that both bathrooms were gross; there was black mold in the showers, dirty grout, and scale on all the faucets. All the air vents were also dirty and had what looked like mold on them, too. The dishwasher had scale in it too and left dishes and cups still wet and dirty.
This hotel has no "services" at all. They even charge for Wi-Fi. The "promo code" they gave us as compensation for the "inconvenience" of all of this didn't work. You have to change your own bed(s). We had to attempt to make our beds.....with no fitted sheet. They give you an old manual sweeper style "vacuum" that doesn't work so you can clean your own room. The maintenance staff "makes rounds" but will not pick up any trash or linens left outside, even though they pass by your room. You have to call the front desk and request it.....EVERY TIME. In my original room booking, it made it seem like the room had a stackable washer and dryer inside one of the closets as it was mentioned in the room amenities particular to that specific room. Nope.....their washer and dryer is in a small room by the elevator. One washer and one dryer.....for the ENTIRE floor, which has at least 10 or more rooms. They're only on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th floors, so if three guests are already doing laundry, you'll have a long wait. They do provide a small square laundry basket for you to use. One ice machine is on the 3rd floor.....for the ENTIRE building. There are also no vending machines on property or meals of any kind provided during your stay. I'm not sure where the "restaurant" mentioned by another reviewer is on this property, but there was none that I saw during my stay.
Their call and text requests to "claim your room incentives" are excessive. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to sit through a several hours long timeshare presentation just to get a gift card with a few bucks on it, especially with a two year old. This place is not worth "owning." It's basically like staying in an apartment complex.
There is nothing "resort" about this place. Save your time and headache and stay at a luxury hotel like a Hilton or Marriott property. They at least clean your rooms, make your beds, and provide you with necessities without asking, and don't charge for Wi-Fi. Even though it is in a good location and within a short driving distance to Walt Disney World Parks, Universal Orlando, and Sea World, I would not recommend staying here.
I love the scripted reply. No compensation for...
Read moreGot referred to go to this resort and do a tour (suppose to last a hour) from seaworld concierge informed me to make $75 deposit to lock in my reservation and when I come to the tour $75 will be deposited back on the card I use just be sure to bring that same card and a Id and state I make more than 50,000 a year and I will be granted a 7 day 8 nights vacation trip for free. Be sure to ask “for my free gift.” Today I went to do the tour and drove a hour away. The resort is beautiful however the presentation did last a hour but at the end they make you sign a paperwork if you say no to the vacation package your suppose to get 7 days 8 nights for free and deposit back like I was told but that wasn’t the case. The paper work they want you to sign had show non refundable deposit when I asked why is the deposit non refundable when they concierge told me it was refundable they ask if I can prove that in writing? Because it show the deposit was no refundable I said no that is what was told to me and that I even called and spoke with someone prior to rescheduling the touring and they stated the same thing. They reach out to that concierge which ended up calling my phone and yelling at me stating he never told me that and I was lying. I told him I wasn’t going to argue back and forth I have witness who also heard you say the refund would be deposited back and that I am hanging up the phone. The experience was nice up until leaving they false advertise and then don’t want to honor they’re word. At the end of the convo the manager told the receptionist I can only get one the vacation or my money back if that was explained to me in the beginning I wouldn’t have wasted my time nor money to go all the way out there to begin with. All in all experience was horrible customer service was unprofessional no reason why I should even be getting a call and getting yelled at about something that was stated to lure me in and get me to pay into a time share that they state it’s not from the beginning. Triply is where I went if you get referred there just make sure what was told to you is in writing in your pamphlet as well and also make sure your deposit is refunded back to you and don’t just sign the paperwork...
Read moreFirstly, I must say that the room was lovely and we would have given full stars if solely based on that. However, it is never appropriate to be dishonest with your guests, and this is reflected in my rating. The situation is as follows: The concierge informed me that they were giving complimentary 7 night vacations, including 4 single day park tickets and car rental, to guests to encourage people to return to Orlando. He stated the only requirement was that I come back to the concierge desk at the designated time and put down a refundable $20 to guarantee the gift. I received a call the night before telling me it would actually be a 90 minute presentation. We attended the presentation (about 2 hrs) and were given a "gift". After reading the fine print I discovered that it was certainly not complimentary, but would cost between $600-800+. I assumed we were given the wrong deal and called to get clarification. I have called and been shut down or ignored 8 times at least. When I did get someone on the phone they insisted that I would get a call back from management, which never happened, hence my continued calling. After the 5th time getting someone on the phone, however, i did speak with a manager of sorts who figured the person who promised the gift had given me incorrect information, that his employee was wrong to intentionally misinform people, but there was nothing they could do. I explained the blatant manipulation of that concierge and was told that, not only would nothing be done, we could not return or exchange the "gift" (it didn't matter how much of our valuable time we had given to them), and that if I still had a problem with that they would ask their supervisor to speak with me. I have yet to hear from anyone. This experience left a very bad taste with us. Since this is how customers are treated I can easily say we will not be returning, nor recommending this particular hotel. I'm not sure what else to do but leave a poor review in the hope that it will prevent others from trusting the concierge at...
