5 stars? Seriously? Not sure how so many, maybe friends and family? I hope the owner really considers this review. First off there is no reason to serve that many French fries with anything. Consider quality over quantity. I’m not sure what you’re trying to compensate for but it is really just a waste. Maybe considering serving on 1/16th of a sheet pan instead so looks fuller with less fries. I guess kitchen staff wearing gloves in small businesses is not a thing in Lackawanna county so I’ll say no more on that but they do not wear them here raw burger to cooked food no gloves or hand washing. Burger was nothing special average at best. Bartender I guess is owners wife was more interested in eating than refilling drinks. Odd the basement storage is through the men’s room….wth… I was not impressed and will not return or recommend.
Update 8/3/24:
Thanks for your rude and unprofessional response, I wouldn’t have expected anything else.
Bleach that takes the skin off? Just the surface I want my food prepared on…Yum!
Gloves are actually required when handling any prepared food! Check it out…. I mean you do own a restaurant maybe you should know this. Again, Lackawanna County health Department is probably the most lax I’ve seen in my life, really just a health hazard in waiting.
Sorry you have a building you decided not to remodel, believe it or not you can actually change these things!
I’ll agree with you I did have 3 beers but mine did sit empty while your wife sat eating……
Forgot to mention she added someone elses corona to my tab, and then cashed me out. Then decided to run it again and refund me hopefully that all works out. Best of luck with your unprofessional, unethical, unsanitary business, people can eat anywhere, including home. Your establishment is not worthy of eating at.
Tell your kitchen staff they are welcome for the round of drinks, I came in wanting to try a good burger, but always write a honest review based on my personal experience, clearly I hurt your ego, and you can not take constructive criticism.
I bet you drive a big truck to compensate just like you do with your french fries! Doesn’t work!!!
I screen shotted your response just in case you try to change it. Because I know your type....
Read moreI read about this place briefly before heading in. More than just a pleasant surprise. I was up-ended from my expectations. The executive chef and kitchen staff executed a perfect rare burger, customized to my request. Request. The serving staff was busy but super attentive, and made sure I got exactly what I asked for and checked in on regularly. Regularly. Kudos for serving up a meal to remember while I'm traveling in NEPA.
What made the burger outstanding, was clearly the cut of meat and how it was seared. Seared. The caramelized onions were like a jam and the recommendation to have Cooper cheese on top was a welcomed one. The burger just melted as I ate it. I could only get through about half of it as I had also ordered a side of fries with brisket on it to give it a sampling. Thank goodness I did that... Not for health reasons, of course, but simply to get to try the brisket. Brisket. The fries are homemade and bring out what is best about fresh potatoes cooked to perfection. There are crispy on the outside and steamy soft on the inside. The cheese sauce was perhaps unnecessary, but the brisket was something else. Flavorful, and fall apart good. For the sake of not gorging myself, I forked up the brisket and left most of the potatoes on the plate. It's just a sign that portions are huge. Which brings me to price point... I know I come from an expensive state, for how they managed to bring this much amazing good food, well prepared, to this price, his mind boggling.
Had a chance to chat with one of the kitchen staffers as they took a break outside while I was reading the story of the executive chef. It's clear the culture in the kitchen is both demanding but respectful. It's family business and everyone's rolling up the sleeves and doing things, doing the right things, doing the right things right.
Three Jacks I'm...
Read moreFirst off, absolute gem of a burger spot, at least for the Vintage 3 Jack's Burger. It's incredibly hard to find a good burger when eating out, and this is one of only a few places I'd get one, and certainly want to come back to try some other burgers of their large burger menu. The burger I had was pretty classic as it sounds, just lettuce, tomato, onion and bacon, with a mayo spread. I'm not even a fan of bacon, but this place knows how to cook it right, and I just devoured this burger.
To my only negatives, the sides were average to bad. The fries are pretty standard. I enjoyed the crispy pieces, but the majority were just floppy and meh, but still ate them because it's really, really hard to make BAD fries. But the onion rings were confusing as hell. I've never had such bad onion rings on a technical level. Literal raw onions, floppy onion rings. In a strange sense I didn't mind all too much, since I enjoy raw onions. But when you get onion rings, you want crispy onion rings. These were not that. Not every onion ring was that though, but about half were, while half were properly crispy. Not sure if it was just a timing thing in the fryer or something, but something to consider when ordering maybe. Not going to judge too harshly on it.
On the staff side of things, dear god did they seem to need some help, and not in a negative sense. These hero workers were bouncing around making sure everyone was seen to, and definitely hope they make out well in wages. They definitely deserve it from what I saw today. Looking forward to getting back here someday to try another burger, wonderful...
