Read moreIf you are in Durham NC you should absolutely try this place out!! Well worth it. Prices are reasonable and food is fantastic!! We stopped by this bakery on our way out of town because we were staying in the Double Tree right across the road. My biggest regret is that we didn't go earlier!! The atmosphere is both charming and welcoming. We bought several of the baked items including, Italian Rainbow cookies which have been my favorite since I was a child The flavor of the cookie was the best I've had since getting them from the bakeries in NY. We also got 2 polish donuts one filled with a lemon curd and one with peach, a fresh sliced rosemary and sea salt bread and a chocolate filled croissant. All of the items were made fresh on site and you could 100% tell. They were amazing! The lemon curd was both tart and sweet, the warm chocolate croissant was flaky and buttery these items were just perfectly balanced and exactly what you would expect. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich, egg, bacon and cheese on a polish everything bagel. Would HIGHLY recommend trying it. The service at the counter was great and the baker even came over to explain the difference between vanilla extract and vanilla paste. It just struck me that this baker took the time to stop what they were doing in order to explain something to me. He seemed to genuinely enjoy explaining the differences.
NOTE: THEY SELL HOME MADE...

The pastry I had was the raspberry linzer cookie. Honestly, it was delicious. Not overly sweet but still yummy. However, the pricing of the pastries is a bit absurd. I saw a mini (!!!) chocolate croissant priced at $4.29.
The lady helping me at the counter was also not very friendly. She was nice to the lady ahead of me but was a lot colder to me… so that was interesting.
Overall, I would probably come back for the raspberry linzer cookie and other pastries if the price point...
