I have sushi at least once a week and have tried most of the places nearby. I work very close to Sushi Express so I figured I'd give it a shot and order. The sushi wasn't bad at all, although they don't give as many pieces as other places and charged me 2 dollars for a can of soda. But overall, the food was not bad. I had a problem with the service. I wasn't given napkins, chopsticks, or even a fork; which I usually dont make a big deal of at home, but I was at work and wasn't about to eat it with my fingers. No big deal, I called back and let the person know I wasn't given those items and he insisted on arguing with me that he put them in the bag. After a minute of back and forth arguing, he asked me what I wanted him to do. I wasn't about to eat it with my fingers at work so I asked him to send some napkins and chopsticks. Instead of saying "ok" he immediately hung up the phone and I then waited about 15 minutes till my items arrived. The driver was polite enough to apologize, but also mentioned that the person who I was arguing with was the "boss". That's no way to treat a customer. I enjoyed the food, but will not eat there again because of the way I was treated. (By the way, I work at a hotel right up the street where I refer guests everyday to nearby...
Read moreI, frankly, was hesitant to order from this place because of the negative reviews. BUT I think all these negative reviews are inaccurate! First of all, we received the food in about 30 min-SUPER FAST! The delivery man was very nice and respectful! Second of all, the fish is very fresh! Salmon literally melted in my mouth. My family is a fish guru and I can tell that the fish was fresh, which is what defines a great sushi or sashimi. Third, good price for quantity and quality! It is true there are places that give you more pieces, but rolls from other places are much thinner and have a lot of rice inside and little of the main ingredients. So it depends on what you prefer: more pieces with mainly rice or less but thick pieces with more core ingredients inside. FRESH fish is not as fulfilling as meat or any other food AND more expensive, so, in my opinion, if you expect to get full with real sushi, you should be prepared to pay. Otherwise, order from a place that serves rolls with frozen fish and lots of rice...
Read moreA true hidden gem in Edgewater with quality sushi and ample seating! It’s located right underneath Eden Dental and there is a free parking lot to enjoy your time stress-free at the restaurant. We walked in thinking it will be a small space but surprisingly there were many tables to sit down and enjoy your meal with friends or by yourself near the window. Cool backdrop for some photo ops too! They have lunch special combo deals so check that out too!
We ordered city roll, crazy salmon, Tokyo, California rolls, & salmon nigiri and every one of them had tasted fresh with plenty of fish. The chef/owner Yun was super friendly. I don’t know why I didn’t come here sooner - will be coming back again for great sushi and service! FYI it’s closed on Sundays. Highly recommend anyone in need of a quick take-out spot before going on a scenic stroll/picnic by the Hudson River or eating in alone or...
