Dong Ting Chun — Restaurant in Edmonds

This place was amazing!! We were very intimated by the menu - lots of authentic meats that we weren't familiar with so we went with the beef chow mein and lotus root. The chow mein was like a fine steak that you order at a real steak house, instead of a plain beef patty you order from McDonald's with no bun. Hands down the best I've ever had. The lotus root was spicy with good flavor (they toned it down for us though), and had a similar texture to water chestnuts or celery, but with a better crunch, no mealy disintegration or strings, and just fantastic by itself, with rice, or added to the chow mein. Speaking of rice, you only get one little bowl per person and it's a dollar each. Get it. The pork belly I tried from my husbands leftovers about a year ago and even after they were refrigerated the buns were soft and chewy, and the meat melted in your mouth. I do have to say this is probably one of the most authentic places I've ever been to The wait staff is extremely nice, gave us plenty of time to look over the menu before asking if they could help or explain anything, made suggestions and after our food was delivered made sure we were happy with it. We'll definitely be back and ordering some more adventurous...

M S G should be the name of the restaurant because thats all i tasted in my food, mandy. I saw your review also , i agree extra extra salty!!! It was so bad i couldnt even taste the food, price are really so high for M S G loaded foods... is this what chinese people like?? I was only American in there yes its new but its like a menu full of M S G for china kid’s parents money to pay for...

Beware its my opinion there are some fake reviews , because i dont anyone that would rate M S G foods high,,,, I did call (after eating)and the phone was pasted around they found a guy that spoke English he was honest which was the best thing “ yes we do use M S G “ I would never go back and never tasted food so salty, also very expensive for low quality...

Don't come to this place and waste your time! The waiters are extremely rude, especially the lady. While we were waiting to be seated (as she told us to, in a rude way!) and also waiting for a friend to come, she kept asking "Where's the other one?" after we said that he's on the way and kept repeating "I only see two, where's number three?" And wouldn't let us seat. Then, the other group of people came and she just let them sit right in without any reservations or writing name or waiting, because they talked with her in chinese and she said it's fine, they don't need to wait. Felt like we were being treated as beggar or something, extremely racist. Later that point, she wouldn't even care if we need to order or not, she only serve the other group's table. Then we decided to just walk out of that place and came to Dumpling's Generation restaurant to have a nice and respectful dinner. NEVER WANT TO RETURN TO DONG TING CHUN EVER AGAIN!!!!
