The Whiskey Biscuit has great potential. They definitely have to tweak some things on the menu: the chicken wings were awesome, and the dip made it even better! I was told the chef "blanches" the wings before deep frying, and the wings will still look pink inside sometimes. Sorry, I don't buy into that. If the wings are partially frozen before frying, there's a chance they won't be entirely cooked, even at 10 min. I had two that were red inside, definitely were not cooked completely. We had some fried Brussels sprouts-awesome!! But some of them were still cold. The mac and cheese was very bland- my friend added all the jalapenos from my sandwich and it tasted better. As for my fried chicken sandwich, the chicken was very plain. The amount of fresh sliced jalapenos freaked me out-I don't do burn-your-mouth-out heat. It had garlic aioli spread, but the sandwich would be improved by using the wing dip- it was that good! Oh and please add some lettuce to that! The concept of using a biscuit for a sandwich is intriguing, even if it falls apart. I also had the French Toast onion rings. Very different concept, and also the best onion rings I've ever had! This bar/restaurant does have a ton of whiskey and lots of interesting drinks. Be aware the parking is terrible; 3 eateries at one small, cramped parking lot. And you can't park at the grocery store across the street. I will be returning to try more of the menu at the...
Read moreUpdate: thank you for taking the time to reply. I've never seen a restaurant consider themselves full when there was at least 5 tables counted empty. Your hostess was the one that shared that we could not be seated due to the kitchen being behind. The two people we saw working were very friendly.
The animals you allow in your indoor dining area with no regard to your other guests is why I will not return or recommend this small locally owned business. Holding a small dog in your lap at a dinner table would not fit the four paws on the floor rule for working service animals. I am unaware of any cities or states that recognize birds as services animals. So there seems to be no justification.
I saw one server taking care of your seated tables, if a manager cannot assist the team or do table visits I cannot see how they would be good at taking care of customer feedback....
hostess was friendly but not very efficient. Had to wait 20 minutes to be seated because the kitchen staff was behind and there was only one server. There was a person with a bird in the restaurant and a woman sitting at her table holding a dog inside. The water tasted like mildew. Good whiskey selection and the food was fine. Will not go back due to animals in the restaurant and the...
Read moreI had the brussel sprouts as an app. I had them taken off of my bill due to an undercooked, rushed, bland excuse for an appetizer. The more than friendly waitress was a breath of fresh air. She recommended the veggie entree over the Mac and cheese and once again, I pushed the brussel sprouts to the side as they were way too undercooked to gnaw through. I suggest par cooking them ahead of time as they do take alot longer than all other items in the dish. Besides that, the rest of the entree was mediocre at best. Since I had some room left because of all the food I sent back, I opted for the cookie dessert. If nothing else, the kitchen was consistent. The cookie was over cooked, hard, and crumbly. Not soft and gooie like the menu described it to be. If the Whiskey Biscuit cannot afford a chef to over see the menu production they should at least pony up for a kitchen manager. It's obvious that the person or people cooking my meal could care less about anything except rushing a distasteful mockery of a dining experience onto a plate. I will not be returning to the Whiskey Biscuit again, as I urge my fellow diners to steer clear of this joke of a restaurant!!! Maybe they should change their name to "The Whiskey" and leave the biscuits to people that actually know...
