I recently visited Rio Bravo Tacos and Taqueria, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I decided to sit at the bar, but the service was incredibly slow, both in the evening and during the day. Despite sitting there for a while, I was completely ignored by the staff, which left me feeling quite frustrated. To make matters worse, I was overcharged for my drink—about $5 more than what I had ordered. When I asked for the check to clarify the charges, I was told that I couldn’t have one, which was both confusing and unacceptable. The food didn’t redeem the experience. I tried the tacos and queso dip, both of which were disappointing. The tacos were incredibly basic and lacked any real flavor. The queso dip was even worse—the cheese was curdling together, making it anything but creamy. The menu promised green chilis on top of the queso, but I guess that was too much to ask for because they were nowhere to be found. As if the poor service, overcharging, and disappointing food weren’t bad enough, I was constantly bothered by flies throughout my time there. The flies were all over me and the area around me, which made me lose my appetite. I couldn't even consider eating the food because the flies were swarming around it. Overall, my experience at Rio Bravo was disappointing, and I would not recommend it based on the issues I encountered with service, cleanliness, and food quality.

This will be the last time I come to this establishment! While eating the vegetarian enchilada, I informed my server Eddy that there is hair in my food as well as my rice was over cooked. I asked him to take the order back and that we would like the bill for the remaining items. He than brings me a bill with half off on the enchilada and I immediately disputed it because I only ate 1 of the enchilada and after disco bing the hair I went to the bathroom and threw it up! Eddy than snatches the bill out of my hand and tells me to leave and never come back! I than replied to eddy that we are willing to pay for the other items on the bill minus the meal that had hair in it. He continued to have a attitude and than re approached us with fist asking if we said something. Than after asking for a manager he told me their was no one on duty and that I can come back another day if I want to speak to a manager. I honestly shouldn’t have paid for anything with the service provided! Great way to start the business week Eddy!

Rio Bravo Tacos and Tequila is a good restaurant in Black Rock Bridgeport if you are craving for authentic Mexican food. The food is absolutely delicious, and the vibe is nice and cozy, making it a great place to hang out with friends or family. The average cost per person is around $20-$30, which is reasonable considering the quality of food and the portion sizes. The menu features a variety of tacos, as well as other Mexican classics such as burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. Each dish is prepared with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly staff and colorful decor that transports you to Mexico. The service is top-notch, and you can tell that the staff takes pride in their work. Overall, I recommend Rio Bravo Tacos and Tequila for anyone looking for an excellent Mexican dining experience. The food is fantastic, the vibe is great, and the prices are reasonable

I've heard mixed reviews about this establishment, and upon arriving with my family and awaiting the arrival of others, our experience was less than satisfactory. The hostess seated us at two tables in the center, and regrettably, one of the tables was considerably wobbly, making it impossible for my children to comfortably tuck in their chairs or legs. Moreover, we found ourselves frequently bumped by new customers seated behind us.

When the waitress attended to us, I explicitly conveyed our need for separate checks as we were anticipating a group arrival. She acknowledged this request. However, our initial disappointment continued when we ordered soda drinks that were noticeably underfilled and lacked the expected level of freshness and effervescence. The nice ambiance was marred by the presence of fruit flies. It was a discouraging factor that hindered our ability to relish fully the atmosphere.

As our companions arrived, we commenced ordering our meals while nibbling on chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the salsa was diluted and devoid of flavor. Additionally, when our individual orders did arrive swiftly, my personal experience with the food was disappointing. The rice served with my tacos was noticeably cold and hardened, while the tacos themselves were cold and the meat unpleasantly chewy. Despite attempting to enjoy the slaw, my overall dining experience was far from satisfactory.

Similarly, my child's ordered kid's cheeseburger arrived cold and absent of cheese. A considerate gentleman, not part of our serving staff, empathetically noticed my efforts to attract the waitress's attention, which proved futile due to her apparent busyness. He expressed his concern and offered to rectify the situation, but I declined to avoid causing disruption in the kitchen. He kindly did bring dessert for my kids. We did appreciate it.

At the conclusion of our meal, when the waitress presented a single check despite our earlier request for separate bills, we opted to divide the payment using two separate cards. Moreover, an unexpected 20% gratuity was added, with no provision for an 18% option as I felt she deserved. Furthermore, additional charges were incurred for soda refills, contrary to the menu's explicit promise of complimentary soda refills only.

The culmination of these instances led to embarrassment and disappointment. Consequently, neither I nor my accompanying party have any intention of returning to this establishment...

I am extremely disappointed in how the service of Rio Bravo in Fairfield has turned out to be over the last year. I am not sure why, but every time I go to this restaurant, which used to be my favorite of all time, they manage to mess something up. I am not someone to write poor reviews on restaurants, however I felt that I need to for these reasons:

Once ordered a simple takeout order with no food modifications or substitutions over the phone. I was told it would take 20 minutes. I arrive to the restaurant and they tell me that they never got my order. The manager, who was new at the time, came over and told me I must have ordered from a different location which was funny because I have their number saved in my phone since I always ordered from there. I was frustrated and told him that I was going to wait for my food that they would now be putting into the system. I waited at the bar and when the food was ready, I was given a complimentary order of guacamole - nice! Too bad it was extremely gritty and distasteful.

The phone rings so quietly there that when I had arrived to the restaurant I questioned the manager as to why nobody was answering the phones. That just makes them lose even more business.

The past 3 times I have gone there the service has been poor. Servers do not seem to care about their tables and responsibilities and have had to wave them down on numerous occasions just to get a refill and even place an order! This past week we went to order guacamole and we were informed that they had ran out of avocados - excuse me but how is this possible when that is one of the most popular apps. You should always have ingredients fully stocked in these types of situations. The thing that really bothered me was that the restaurant close at 8, that is understood. What is not understood is why are all of the chairs being put up at 7:30 and the servers are no longer tending to their tables? As customers we understand that you are looking forward to getting off your shift and returning to home to relax. Some of us even work in the restaurant business as well and we understand how bothersome it can be for tables to be sitting and waiting around for hours after closing, but this should not be happening 30 minutes before closing. I am sad to say it but I will no longer be returning here.

Sorry! Just have...

I just started buying from Rio Bravo-via UberEats. The delivery is fast and the food is very very good. I only buy from the best restaurants. If it's not good, I do not eat it! The chips and salsa have to be great. The meats have to be tender and the meals must be balanced with good flavor. Also the most food for your buck is another good add on. Rio Bravo hits all these points. I order their Chicken Tortilla Soup. High quality soup with slight smoky flavor, high quality cheese, good pieces of avocado and tasty chicken. They also add vegetables and scallions. The soup is a real pleasure. I also order the Fajita Burrito and the Chicken and Steak Fajitas. They have a touch of bacon in their beans on the Fajita meal, which really adds something that I don't get at other Mexican restaurants. Unique! You also get plenty of food with these meals. This place does not JIP you. They provide a very high quality meal at an affordable price. They could charge more, but prices are great. I have no complaints about the food at all. I'd give this restaurant a 6 if there was the option to. Affordable, plenty of food, balance tastes in each meal. Great salsa and chips, High Quality and Well cooked meats. Just try and find a restaurant that delivers to your home with these qualities in this area. Also, last thing.. there packaging is also very good. It does not leak and the food can be stored and stays good. This is an honest review. Someone said a bad review below. I disagree with them 100% and they should fix their...
