Meh.
Based on the previous reviews, we might have gotten them on a bad day, but there were just TOO MANY THINGS wrong with the meal to even consider going back and giving them another chance.
Where to begin?
Let's see...the appetizer. Alright, the steamed pork dumplings were thick. Not just "full of filling" thick, but the actual dough was thick. And since this was a to-go order, by the time I got back to the house, they had cooled, resulting in a thick, pasty, gummy, mess. The filling was alright, but chewing through the exterior resulted in an exhausting experience. Ended up almost finishing one. We also ordered two spring rolls which were overly greasy and not as refreshing and appetizing as one would expect. Ate one and couldn't stomach a second. And the wife requested crab wonton and while she enjoyed the filling (cream cheese and crab), she ended up just eating the centers out of them, ditching the pastry portion (she said that it, too, was overly greasy).
Moving on to the main course, we ordered Sweet/Sour Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice. With the Sweet and Sour Chicken, the first couple of pieces were good, but then the chicken started getting less cooked and inferior. By the fourth piece, I thought that someone had slipped a piece of something else other than chicken into the box. Ate just under half before I couldn't stomach it anymore.
That leaves the fried rice. Which was good, but not great. Certainly not enough to overcome all the other deficiencies.
Oh well. We tried.
Bottom line: there are much better quickee Chinese places within traveling distance and while we had hoped to save time by going local, this experience has shown that we should stick with the other places. Was it cheap? Sure. But the fact that I ended up throwing away more than half of it...
Read moreSo I would like to say that the food was horrible!! I ordered 2 dinner specials that came with egg rolls, 2 can sodas, and sweet donuts (generals tso and sesame chicken). First they where lunch size and not dinner size meals, second the generals had all kinds of green peppers and carrots in it, not spicy and no broccoli either, the fried rice that came with it was sticky and over cooked. The sesame chicken was so sweet that I felt like I was eating sugar chicken, I got it with steamed rice, and it was literally one solid piece so over cooked that it was sticking together horribly. The sweet donuts tasted like old grease and egg rolls. Now the veggie eggroll was good, but my husband said the shrimp one tasted bad like the shrimp was bad, and he threw it away. I would only give this half a star because the only thing good was the ONE egg roll and the 2 sodas. It was a complete waste of money because we did not even eat it. I would have taken it back, but I picked it up on my way to work and was unable to. I will never eat here again :/ IM VERY...
