My wife and I came for dinner around 6pm on a Monday. It wasn't terribly busy, and we were sat without having to wait. We ordered the Scotch Eggs as an appetizer, and it was our first time trying it. Definitely an interesting taste, but in a good way, and we would recommend it. I got the State Fair Burger as my main entrée. I was disappointed at the number of cheese curds, but you got some good strips of bacon, and the burger itself tasted good. My wife got the Steak Bites, and they were pepper forward, which she really liked because it added some extra flavor. The fries themselves tasted good to boot. Service was friendly, and we quite liked the atmosphere. For our visit, the audience seemed to skew a little older, generally people in their 30's and up, but that could just be because it was a Monday night. From our perspective, though, it was nice to be at a place where we could hear each other speak instead of having to shout over background music. We would come again!

I used to frequent Boiler Room more often, especially while in college, but stopped after my card had been overcharged on two different occasions (more than what my total was + tip...I kept my receipt) and the staff wasn't apologetic and didn't give me any details on why that might have happened. I finally went back for the first time in 2+ years and wasn't impressed. I remember them having the BEST bacon dip appetizer, and decided to order it for takeout. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality control on the bacon was absolutely terrible. My to-go container of dip was full of super fatty bacon. It wasn't melt in your mouth fatty, but hard and really chewy fatty. I had to go through in pick out all the fat because I literally couldn't even chew through the dip. The appetizer used to be served with tortilla chips and is now served with baguette slices, which is fine, but the slices they gave me were just covered in salt. The appetizer was a total fail and my french toast wasn't great either. It didn't come with the glaze/icing it was supposed to have. Our order wasn't cheap, we tipped generously, and it just wasn't worth it.

Good food but lackluster service. I sat at the bar, and it was like I was invisible. I was offered something to drink after a few minutes, but wasn’t offered a food menu, so I had to catch the bartender’s attention again to ask for one. The menu was paper, which is fine, but it looked like someone had been sitting on it. I finished my drink, and waited, waited, and finally had to push it out forward and catch someone’s attention for a refill. I finished my food, and my plate sat there for several minutes. I put my napkin on it and moved it to the side, and it still sat there for another 10 minutes before someone finally took it away. No one asked if I wanted anything else for a while, until a few minutes after I’d finished my second drink, and by then I just wanted the check. I’d been considering getting a dessert but lost interest. There were several people milling around behind the bar talking, and even directly in front of me doing things, without offering me service or checking in on how I was doing. It was just weird, and despite the menu having other items that looked interesting, it made me not want to go back.

Never have I had a bad experience at the boiler room, but cripes. $5 for a kids soda and $7 for a kids hot chocolate seems a bit outrageous. Both drinks being more than a standard beer 😱 Also my drink was either over poured or sat for an extended period of time, as my drink was 3/4 full of vodka making my bloody bar bloody impossible to fill and enjoy, I ended up needed to go back to add more mix to the drink, which was awful as we were stuck in the back and I had to shimmy through the main walkway multiple times. It’s a place I will revisit but only if I’m sitting at the rail and do not have my kids. Insane to me that 4 drinks and one dessert cost $50 when our breakfast at $20 a pop at Jays only cost $10 more. Thanks but no thanks.

The many times in which my wife and I have been to the Boiler Room it's always been good. This day we had the Scotch eggs, Breakfast casserole, and the Bloody Mary bar. All of what we had was excellent. We were with another couple and they were Gluten free. There were a few GF options but not many sadly because of breading on the items. Excluding that however the service and food was excellent as was the downtown setting. If your not Gluten free this is a great spot! And the tap options are fantastic! If you're going there for Breakfast or Brunch be sure to try the Scotch Eggs, Breakfast Tacos, and Breakfast Casserole. And do yourself a favor and just put the Spicy Maple Aioli on EVERYTHING!

A hidden eatery beneath the Fargo city streets! Wonderful service from Laura & engaging conversation from Jeff. I ordered both the steak bites & chicken pot pie. Chef Q served up the 2 dishes perfectly cooked with delightful flavors. The two sauces that came with steak, complemented each other for a a rich taste that you could adjust to your palate & the chicken pot pie took me back to a time in my grandmother’s kitchen when hearty delicious meals preceded frozen tins of premade meals. A clean, comfortable place, The Boiler Room seems to be a popular place as they were quite busy (for a Tuesday) when I arrived & I was grateful it was one of the rare Fargo restaurants open 11PM.
