This review was a draft from 3 years ago, I just hadn't hit post: but going there today reminded me of why it needed to be.
Omg where do I begin. I went there one day to try it out, I figured it had to be good because they shut down Captain Nemos that was in that building before the scamdemic. Lets start with the prices. Reg cheeseburger 10 dollars, it does come with a handful of fries, but they do not tell you that on the menu. Then I ordered a cup of their chicken and dumpling soup, 5.99. it was in a very small paper cup with lid. That would have been ok but the burger was one of those frozen patties where u can see the preshaped form even after cooked, they slathered so much mayo on it, i could hardly taste anything else. I asked them to cut it in half for me cuz i was starving and driving, and they said it was a 1/2 lb burger. First they said they couldn't do that but then decided they could because they werent busy😂, then when i opened it, they didnt cut it anyway. Oh btw the soup was horrible, it looked just like the canned version of Campbell's, but they added a bunch of the wrong spices like Rosemary and thyme instead of Bay leaves, parsley or something that tastes good with Chicken based soup. I tried to Doctor it up but I couldnt even salvage it! What a rip off this joint was! Now we get to the part that was the kicker. Has anyone ever heard of a TOLERANCE FEE? IT'S WHERE THEY CHARGE YOU A FEW DOLLARS EXTRA JUST IN CASE YOU'RE LEAVING A TIP. Well the girls that work there had no clue what it was so they kept charging it and the amount they were charging me $16.95 and I kept getting a notification on my phone that I was getting charged $20 and some change, and so I had these charges on my card that by the way do not come off for a couple days, ended up using a different card and it didn't charge it, but if you have a certain kind of card they will charge you a tolerance fee. They are the first restaurant that ever did that to any of my cards so this is them, not your card company. Captain Nemos, why did...
Read moreSame owners as Atwater Street Tacos across the street. Both establishments are top notch. Clearly the owners know who they are serving and what this business is all about. The Blue cheese burger (I forget their name for it) is excellent. Fries are crisp, slightly breaded and perfect for dipping in their "bomb" sauce. And the prices are very reasonable. I personally will pay the few bucks more for high quality Angus beef and food that is not filled with preservatives like the frozen pink slime at McD's. And that's what it literally is: 2 or 3 bucks more if you get a drink than any combo at a fast food burger joint. Throw in the perfect layout and location, and I couldn't be happier that my little town has 2 GREAT new eateries. Atwater has already taken a lot of my money, and now Station 24 will be getting even more of it. If you are passing through Flat Rock, do yourself a favor and stop at one of these locations....you will...
Read moreOne star for the fries. The fries are those crispy coated kind some places have. The cod sandwich was similar to the one another reviewer here gave 1 star. Falling apart and tasted odd. Cod is a fish that always tastes a certain way - not here. I don’t know what they did to it. There was so much tarter all squeezed into the sandwich wrapping (it was all over the wrapper, the bun, everything). I could have made 5 sandwiches out of how much was there. I threw it out, lol. Also the mac and cheese I knew I was taking a gamble on and had to put some salt and pepper on it to give it some flavor. More places should use some different cheeses (try Vinsetta garage or Bad Brad’s cheese flavor). If I give them another try I’ll try a smoothie and get plain fries for sure. $17 for fries and the classic mac since I tossed the sandwich - not in my plans but wanted to share my review about...
