Waitress was great. We go here because it is 15 minutes away, the food is okay and we could smoke in the outdoor bar. This time, they messed up my order. I say no problem, I'll pick out the items i did not want. Things are okay, I am on my second beer and half done with my lunch. Then, the general manager comes out. I think he is coming to apologize for the order being messed up, and thank me for being so cool about it. Instead, he sees my veterans hat and says, "Thank you for your service." Again, I thought he was going to thank me for being cool about the screwed up order. I said you are welcome. Then he tells me there is no pipe smoke or cigars allowed. You can smoke cigarettes, though, or vape. I told him i called and asked before the first time we came there about cigarettes and cigars and asked every time we got there to be sure and was told it was okay. We have been here multiple times. He said, " i wish I had known because I would have told you it is not allowed." So, how is it that all your outdoor staff members do not know this? This was our 6th visit and 3rd outside smoking. How is one type of smoke worse than another? I don't like the smell of vapes. I think they are just as harmful as cigarettes, but they are allowed. How about as the general manager asking the waitrest before approaching the customer how the service has been? How about training the staff or posting signs. Our waitress today did not know the policy or neither did the hostess. There is a very big breakdown in leadership here and policy. No offense to you that do not smoke. I am respectful of that. But I do and look for places that allow it in the outdoor bar. If kids are around, I won't smoke even outside in areas where it is allowed. We tipped our waitress 30% on a $108 bill. We have spent about $700 there on 6 trips. We won't be back. Twin Peaks, which is 5 minutes further away, has better food and colder beer for about the same price. I'm not angry. I just think management ruined our experience. Just because you are a manager does not make you a leader. If you were your team, would know your policy.
