This place is EXCELLENT!! THE FOOD!! WOW!! I I travel all over the states weekly and so sad that this place is mismanaged. I am from Texas and man when I saw the bull and this massive patio! I fell in love. We were going to Cheesecake Factory, but I had never been to this Mall area, so cute and inviting. Bricks! I thought it was closed. A beautiful day! I asked if it was open. The doors were all shut. Nothing made it look open. When we sat on the patio, they opened the big glass doors. Wow!! The waiter took pride in the food! Answered our many questions and gave us the best ideas for our food and for the money, which we appreciate. BUT The whining was too much. Maybe he was told in training be personable, make chit chat. He got the wrong ideas. Small talk maybe about our day not his exhausting day and complaints about patrons calling. How tired, his pay check deposit issues, running to the bank etc. So we actually were advertisement for anyone walking to the mall!! We made other people stop in by seeing us sitting front and center on patio. Instead of cleaning the mess and keeping cold water in glasses (which they did ask if we wanted more water) but no ice was given. Maybe Luke water is normal. It's FL. We didn't want to leave. We ordered appetizers and big meals, drinks, then dessert which i never do! But this was great quality food! No added sugars and felt i would enjoy. I was not disappointed the Collard greens are the best! So much yummy southern food!! When you leave a restaurant you want to walk out chatting about how great and about your own business it shouldn't consume all that went wrong.
A girl comes to take our empty dishes. Did not ask if we want more drinks. Another girl says are you done with an obvious empty plate which I is great, then grabs a plate with food and my utensil...I said oh no I am still eating." Very apologetic but not reading the room. Look at my reviews . I am not knit picky. I eat out weekly and know quality. Again, she does not ask if anything else or even suggestions. Because she wanted plates for empty place and didn't ask anything else, We didn't feel appreciated more like, okay, are you two leaving now. Three different waiters to clear. You hate to be hounded, but drinkers usually drink and spenders spend. They were empty. Its was 4 or 5 pm.wgen we sat.
Then we walked to bathroom and were so excited to find a great play room!! Fooze ball, shuffle board, pool, packman, etc. Just fun place, and when we walked behind bar back into the restaurant, the girl LITERALLY CLOSED HER FAKE EYELASH EYES when we say , "great playroom! ! When is it open or do you have to rent? She didn't get excited that we loved it! She just ignored what we asked and said Did you just walk in from that room?" I said yes? She batted her eyes and said it's private you can't go in there. Okay, well, we were in there . Is it for parties or open certain days off the week? She closed her eyes no smile looked away and I swear it was as if we were interrupted her !! She is on a stool and no one at the bar. I said again, hi! Are we interrupting you? We are so sorry. I was just wondering about the room. A perfect opportunity for her to SELL THE ROOM! I MEAN DO YOU REALIZE I CAN BRING YOU BUSINESS? NOT TO MENTION MY Friend with me.She slowly said, yes it can be rented, and it's never open to the public." That's it. My friend, immediately said when we walked away, what I was thinking plus - she seemed perturbed, we asked questions, that we looked at the place, and she didn't want to be bothered.
Look if you have all the business you need from phone orders, that's great! But that place is AWESOME AND THE FOOD! FIND SOMEONE TO MANAGE THE PLACE and hire qualified service personnel beefcake I want to keep...
Read moreThis was my 1st and only experience so far with Clasico Chophouse & Taproom. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience at all. When we decided to go try dinner there, I was truly excited and prepared for a wonderful dinner out. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We love the layout and all the different types of available seating arrangements. Their indoor and outdoor seating areas are comfortable, clean, and welcoming. The food, however, was a big letdown for me as well as the service. For our starter, we chose the deviled eggs, which were topped with burnt ends and candied jalapenos, and they were delicious. For my girlfriend's dinner, she had chosen the house sausage jalapeno and cheddar along with pablano coleslaw and sweet potato fries. Overall, she was happy with her dinner. She did say the pablano slaw was just okay and all the food came out cold. For my dinner, I had chosen the St Louis ribs with the house rub with a side of sweet potato fries and Mac & Cheese. When I finally did get my food, all my sides came out cold. There was a hold-up with my food due to my 1st order of ribs being dropped when being plated in the kitchen. The manager did come out and apologize, which I truly appreciated. When everything made it out and I finally tasted the ribs I had been waiting for, and the ribs just tasted like straight black pepper. We had also ordered drinks, and both came out watery. Definitely was not worth the money. I think the cause of the cold food and watery drinks was due to a server simply not paying attention to us. It took forever for a server to take our order when we finally did get the order it took forever again. I don't think he was checking the window to see if our food was ready. Basically, the whole time we were there, we barely saw our server. We had noticed he was taking care of the other tables around us but not paying any attention to us. Due to the rib mishap, the manager said we would have dessert on him, which again we appreciated. The manager himself was fantastic. The manager had communicated to our server not to bill us for the dessert, and when it came time to billing, the dessert was on there. I handed our server my credit card with the incorrect bill and asked him to take it off the bill. He leaves my card on the table and then comes back with the new bill with the and instead of just grabbing my card to cash us out, he walked away. We had continued to wait for another 20-25 minutes with no server in sight to cash us out. My girlfriend ends up having to go to the bar, handing the bill to the bartender and manager to cash us out. Horrible service for what i expected from this great looking restaurant. A positive note is I am willing to go back and try this place again in the hope this was a one-time issue. The manager again was fantastic and was very apologetic for the rib mishap and took concern when we had issues with the server cashing us out. Another reason I would try eating here again. Wish this review could have been more...
Read moreWe have a small circle of friends (2 other couples) that enjoy hanging out, eating, drinking, and the occasional corn-hole game. This evening was just a nice dining out experience and catching up on the past few weeks.
Our friends recommended Clasico as they have been here a few times and always find that the food is good, the atmosphere is nice, and the prices are fair (for the messed up financial times we are experiencing).
Greeted promptly upon arrival by very friendly staff. Seating was comfortable and spacious. We like the layout, choices between inside and out. Plus they share a space with their sister business Chapter 11 (more pub oriented with a beer wall).
Our server, John, was spot on. Timing was perfect and good personality. Thank you.
Menu is simple but with plenty of choices. *And can choose from either Clasico or Chapter 11's menu, nice to have options.
They have a full bar and a decent wine list. I actually decided to enjoy of a glass of Da Vinci Chianti (rare for me to drink wine being a bourbon guy).
My dinner for the evening started with the Beef Carpaccio, simply based on the recommendation of our bartender. He was very convincing that it was well worth the try. And he was right. Portion was perfect and came with olive oil, balsamic, pine nuts, etc. Made perfectly! I then had the Steak & Gorgonzola Gnocchi which was very good. If there was one critique form the evening it wold be that the Gorgonzola flavor was subtle, if barely any. Would like a wee bit more of that pungency. That being said, it was still a very good offering. Finished off with Tiramisu (how can you now when eating at an Italian place?). Nice variation, smooth, creamy, hint of that booziness we all like. Very good.
We all shared in some of the other starts. Arancinis are made with a wild mushroom risotto and really packs a nice woodsy flavor twist. The Mussels are plentiful and seasoned perfectly. The Zucchini Frites are addicting! And my other half couldn't pass up the pork belly burnt ends from the Chapter 11 menu...ummm those things should be illegal! wow!
Other entrees ordered included the Shrimp Fra Diavolo which was spicy and nice. The Creamy Parmesan Pasta dish was every bit of that...creamy and great parm flavor. 83 of us had the steak & Gorgonzola gnocchi, so yo know it was good all around.
We also had an opportunity to meet (briefly as they checked in on us) the owner and upper management. Nice people.
Overall, we have to say this was a very good dining experience and we will certainly be back to try more of the menu. We hear that breakfast is pretty good too!
Thank you and nice job!
Stopped for brunch today and was equally impressed. Good live music too.
Those Deviled Eggs are...
