Florida Cracker Monkey Bar — Restaurant in Florida

We had been here before and had a nice experience but yesterday was horrific and we will not be back.

I ordered food at 2:14 pm. At 3 pm no one had an idea where our food was after multiple inquiries by me and my husband. The food finally came out close to 3:30...over an hour after we ordered. No one apologized or offered to make it right.

The much worse aspect of our experience was the younger brunette bartender with nose ring. She provided our first round of drinks but on the second round I ordered a Weisse bier. She served me a blood orange beer instead. I tasted it and could see that it was not the Weisse we had gotten on the previous round, but instead the same blood orange we had also ordered in a previous round. I told her it was blood orange. She argued with me. I said please re-pour this, it even smells like orange, you can tell its not the Weisse. She got visibly upset and walked over to the tap and repoured the exact same (wrong) beer. I told her to please look at it-it was exactly the same deep orange thick color as the last one...I told her that again it was not the right beer. She said well thats the weisse and then just stared at me...no offer to switch to another beer, refund it, nothing. Simply left it sitting on the counter. This was humiliating for me as she acted like I was insane. I even asked another bar customer to smell the beer and he said it was very strong smelling of citrus. I asked for a refund and she said "we can't do that" after I had already paid and left gratuity. I will be disputing this charge on my credit card since she refused to refund me and would not provide the beer I paid for. But more importantly she was completely rude and did nothing whatsoever to remedy the situation. This place is the WORST place I’ve been to in Florida and I’ve been here my whole life. I was super excited to finally come here and front start to finish the service was abysmal except the monkey juice, that was pretty delicious. But is coming to this place for they the drink worth it? Absolutely not. The menu variety is limited but is supposed to have good pizza. Save yourself the time and go to the bar across the river with the live music. Maybe the staff treatment and quality of the food will align with the prices. Took 45 min for an $8 hot dog and peta dip that was clearly just microwaved and thrown on a cart and dip. The dip was ok, also just microwaved tasting. 45 min and they wouldn’t have had it ready i didn’t go up and inquire about it. Look at the picture and you can judge for yourself- gas station hot dogs look better than this and probably taste better too. Waitresses and bar tender talk and look at you like you’re dumb bc you don't know that this isn’t table service. No straws bc they’re too cheap to get the paper straws like every other water restaurant who can’t use plastic. Just a really nasty and cheap service. Owners or management clearly don’t care about the restaurant or how it’s perceived. I’ve been all over Florida to all sorts of water restaurants and after this trip, I truly believe they OWE me money for that food. During our recent stay in Homosassa at the Florida Cracker Rivertown Resort, we had the pleasure of dining at this bar/restaurant. I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. With a last-minute request to accommodate a large order of pizzas for approximately 40 people(32 hungry athletes), the management staff, especially Fish and Matt, went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met. Their willingness to work with us and strive for a smooth operation was commendable and appreciated! Despite being super busy, they managed to provide us with delicious pizzas in a timely manner, which was a perfect end to the kids' hard training session.

Not only was the pizza fantastic, but the wait staff also deserves a special shout-out for their excellent service. They were friendly, attentive, and efficient and added to the overall positive experience. In addition to the pizzas, the salads were also favorite—fresh, flavorful, and generous enough to serve as a satisfying dinner.

The restaurant's ambiance was beautiful, and the stunning view perfectly complemented the meal. Plus, they have great live music! The combination of a nice ambiance, helpful staff, and great management made our dining experience truly memorable. If we ever find ourselves back in Homossassa, the Florida Cracker Monkey Bar will undoubtedly be on our list of places to return. Highly...
