Read moreABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Me and my husband visited this place on a Sunday while “baecationing” from Memphis, TN. Reasonably priced and even the small is a great portion at $11. Most large entrees are $22.
Entrees come with rice and peas and Carribean slaw that vinegar based with cucumbers, cabbage and peppers and onions. We ordered a small curry goat, small jerk chicken and the large oxtails.
The beauty is also in the gravies. The right amount of thickness, the meat basked in and seasoned to Carribean perfection. My #1 favorite was the goat. It has Yukon gold potatoes making the consistency of the entree all most like a stew. It might be spicy to some but I'm a hot girl🙋🏽♀️ They add just the right amount of that gravy on the rice and peas. My husband #1 was the oxtail. Delicious and tender and falling of the bone as well. The chicken is tender to and just as enjoyable. But we were full and will be finishing it up in the room.
I traveled as a hairstylist for years to Mandeville, Kingston, Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. I've never experienced just the right amount of Jamaican spices and tenderness of the meat. If only I could pack this place in my suitcase and take it home. We ended up spending almost $100 because my husband loved the oxtails so much so he ordered a pound of them to go. You won't be...
Read moreJust left Maam’s soooo satisfied. Don’t let the dated exterior/interior fool you. The food was amazing. Customer service was excellent. The food area was immaculate. I’d been craving oxtail after so many posts on TikTok and found Maam’s on google. The gentleman that took our order and served us was so nice and welcoming. He was patient with questions and let us taste 3 types of the chicken as we’ve never been there and caught on that my son had a sensitive stomach. The oxtail and the gravy was so tender and delicious as well as the jerk chicken was bursting with wonderful flavors. I got the Jamaican rice w peas and he poured the oxtail gravy all over it. I can eat that all by itself, that rice is very special. Huge portions also, I could not finish the plate. The cabbage salad that they serve w the plate was super fresh and crisp with the light sweet/sour flavor of whatever they use for dressing. Kinda rice wine vinegar vibes. I’m so happy we went and I’m sure I’ll be back before the week ends. Loved...
