Ok so first off who ever is responding to these reviews on behalf of munchies is kinda brain dead, like what happened to the customers always right ? The responses are very unprofessional. Last time I went the bartender was clearly drunk but hey at least I got my food that time …
So where do i begin, well to be short and simple I paid 23$ (3$ tip for terrible service) no host no to go order host no help what so ever ordered my food on a kiosk. waited 45 mins before anyone addressed me about my food (just 10 wings by the way) and was told “your only 45 mins in it’ll be out in 15-20” Had what felt like 1000 people in the lobby all waiting for food. Some people told me they’d been waiting for hours. Someone told me they ordered two sandwiches and took two hours to get. I was very hungry and there’s multiple signs in the lobby saying no refund so, I seat and waited. Let’s talk about the atmosphere, Jesus Christ 🤦🏾♂️ not really you guys fault but the people who go there are so for lack of a better term messy, ik it’s a bar but dang u guys have very low standards. Some girl looked underage and was clearly not sober was getting very rowdy outside, keep approaching me n girlfriend talking bout something yapping, u guys should def have a bouncer or something I honestly hate being there on a Friday Saturday night lowkey feels unsafe. But back to the service or lack there of, after about two hours (ya so much for waiting just 15 more mins) we where told that they are out of wings, and guess what they do do refunds lol. My girlfriend was very livid and wanted to curse somebody out. I didn’t let her do that but after seeing how u guys respond to bad feed back kinda wish I did. I understand someone quit on you guys during your big rush , I’ve worked food b4 I have complete understanding and sympathy, but u guys should stop taken kitchen orders had a sign saying longer wait times then normal, literally anything but what u guys did. The way the staff handle that situation was very very poor. Two staff members took turns running in and out of the kitchen communicating with guess and the kitchen at the same time, like do you guys not hire a host. A lot of this could of been avoided with a well trained host. Last night was the worse food experience I’ve had in my life. The place isn’t welcoming it’s not even nice or friendly looking, the vibes are bad literally people tweaking in the parking lot. And after all that I didn’t even get my food take the no refund signs down. Learn how to be professional and take bad criticism. This place is something out of kitchen nightmares. I’d imagine it’s a lot better during the day time but Tony’s is right down the street why wouldn’t I go there instead 😂. Top 5 worse life experiences, never coming back. Well for sure be spreading the word on how mid this place is.
I double dog dare you to respond to my review with some bs or calling me a liar like u did everyone else. We can beef bout it munchies I don’t even care yall already wasted two...
Read moreThis is the first 1-star review I’ve ever left out of more than a hundred, and there’s a very good reason for it.
While visiting a friend in Sarasota, we decided to stop by Munchies 420 Café. Unfortunately, what should have been an enjoyable evening turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.
When we arrived around 11:04 PM, the place was far from busy—only a few people at the bars and one table occupied. We seated ourselves at a table next to the bar. For over 15 minutes, our server, a young dark-haired male, repeatedly passed us by while giving his full attention to another table with two women. Despite walking by several times, he never once acknowledged us.
We eventually had to flag him down just to order drinks. After waiting another 10 minutes, we noticed our drinks sitting on the bar untouched. The bartender confirmed they were ours, so I ended up retrieving them myself. When the server finally returned, he casually acknowledged the issue and asked if we wanted to order food. We placed an order for Philly egg rolls.
From there, the experience only got worse. We waited 20+ minutes for the appetizer, with no updates and no sign of our server. Frustrated, we decided to leave and went to the bar to close out our tab. The bartender informed us we couldn’t pay at the bar and had to wait for our server, who had once again disappeared. Eventually, while we were in the back trying to pay, the kitchen staff rushed out a small to-go cup with the appetizer—well after we had stated we didn’t want it anymore.
Despite explaining that we never received the food while dining and no longer wanted it, the staff refused to remove it from the bill. We were told, rather dismissively, “I can’t take it off since it’s already made.” The timestamp on the receipt further proved they rang it in late and only prepared it as we were closing our tab.
In total, we were there for over 40 minutes, had to seat ourselves, get our own drinks from the bar, and still were forced to pay for food we didn’t take with us. This wasn’t just poor service—it was negligent and dishonest.
We paid, disputed the charge with Amex, and will absolutely never return. For anyone considering this place, be prepared for an experience where you’re treated as an afterthought—unless you happen to be at the “right and hot girls” table.
Additionally, the restaurant’s security cameras would clearly show that our drinks were left on the bar, our table was neglected, and the food was only prepared and brought out after we were already leaving. This evidence further supports that we were charged for items and service that were not properly provided.

Read moreSo some friends and I stopped by this place on our way home from a school conference trip. I wanted to stop by this place again, because I had initially visited it shortly after it got featured on Man v. Food, and I loved it. Coming back, it's not under new management and has expanded beyond their original floor plan.
Anywho, the atmosphere is unbeatable. The stoner vibe is stronger, every square inch of the establishment is covered in either guest graffiti or wall of shame photos from their impossible hot wing challenge. They have a nice outdoor-ish bar/porch area that's separate from the main bar and there was live music from a great band that sangs things ranging from classic country to Miley Cyrus' Wrecking Ball.
Now, for the food. My girlfriend and I shared, as we always do. I ordered the Fat Sandy sandwich, which as a footlong sub roll two cheeseburgers, mac & cheese, chicken finger, mozzarella stick, onion hoops & spuds. It was good. It wasn't the greatest thing, but it was such a great novelty idea being covered in so much stuff, you just have a good time trying to eat this thing.
Brittany went another direction. She got a 1/2 pound angus burger called the Muncharoni & Cheeseburger (bacon cheeseburger smothered in mac & cheese). This, unlike my sub, was actually above average. Even being slathered in mac & cheese, the quality of the meat still shined through, and it was very good.
We both got sides, tots and "Homemade POTato chips." They were good. I like it when fried items taste fresh and are crispy but with not a lot of oil slopped around everywhere. No special seasoning on either of them. Just relied on ketchup.
Now, for the part of the review where you can hopefully understand why I gave this place four stars instead of three stars. We showed up during an NFL game, and during NFL games, the bar has a special where you buy two drinks and you have access to 25 cent wings, as long as you order them in batches of 10. Sooo... we ordered 20 wings, for five dollars. I was just flabbergasted. AND they were good wings. They had a good size and heft to them, but they weren't at all fatty or gross. They were good. If I hadn't gotten my sandwich, I probably would have ordered 40 of them. The only hitch is that if you want ranch or blue cheese, it's 50 cents per little packet, so bring your own or just eat them...
