My wife and I went there on a weekday evening, closer to closing time when it was kind of quite with staff doing a lot of prep for the following day. The person who waited on us (turned out to be the owner) was friendly and took the time and had the patience to answer all my questions, in depth, about the food and Cuban food in general. We each decided to get a sandwich with the intent on sharing. Knowing this the owner offered to make 2 plates with half of each sandwich on each plate, making sharing much easier... which we gladly accepted.
The food was delicious, with large portions at a more than reasonable price. For that matter, the prices were almost too good to be true, with a breakfast special (we didn't go back for it) at a crazy price. The pork was the best pork that I can remember ever having. When I mentioned this, I was told they make it every day and keep it simple. Not sure how simple can be that good, but it was.
That said, as we finished, we enjoyed talking to the owners (about many things) and it is clear that they value providing a great product at a reasonable price for the hard working people in the area... and also love to share the same with visitors, whether it be snowbirds or someone there for...
Read moreI have spent a good bit of money here. Am there almost every day. I will not spend another dime here.
Im not sure if the staff just doesnt like my face, or what the deal is. However this morning, for about the 15th time, as I am standing there to place my order, the staff looked right past me and took the spanish speaker who walked up in front of me.
I dont fault anyone, however customer service is customer service, and i honestly feel a bit discriminated against when I go here. From getting my order wrong (when i order the same thing everyday) to talking to me like I am stupid for pointing out that sausage on a breakfast sandwich is not links.
Which sucks, because the food is great, and is very convenient. I may have been hangry when i left this review. Out of sympathy, a friend (who the staff will acknowledge and take an order from) gave me an empenada and coolata, which i savored out of spite, and has somewhat...
Read moreIf I didn't have to leave a star I wouldn't have we went in for Breakfast and sat for over 45 minutes waiting on our food and watched other people come get their food and even pay after they finished and we were still waiting (let me explain this is a Cuban Food place and we are a mixed couple white and Panamanian Brown) so when we got up to leave because we hadn't received our food yet the waitress started speaking to the owner in Spanish well they didn't realize my fiance spoke fluent Spanish and was Hispanic not African American so he heard her tell her boss she had to do to go orders and regulars first! So if your a Regular as she said or a to go order you will be ok but if your darker then a good tan or a mixed couple stay away because they are extremely prejudice and we will never return. I can't tell you about the food because after spending an hour of our lives there we never got anything more then some...
