Gussie's Good Vibes & Great Food — Restaurant in Foley

Located at OWA, we chose this restaurant to satisfy the teens in our group who didn’t want a seafood only restaurant again this week. It was the perfect option to satisfy them and those of us who wanted seafood. We chose fried green tomatoes, mozzarella sticks and fried banana peppers for appetizers. If you’re narrowing it down to one, go with the mozzarella sticks. They’re amazing and unlike any we’ve ever had. In our party entrees included cheeseburger, grilled cheese, chicken wrap, grilled shrimp and grits, pork Mac n cheese, and bang bang shrimp tacos. Portions were large and the food was really good! Personally, I had the bang bang shrimp tacos and I can honestly say they were the best I’ve ever had! Service was somewhat slow, which was probably due to October being the “off season” here, so staff is limited. The slowness was completely offset by the kindness and cheerfulness of the waitress and chef....

The place was 1/2 empty, so we were seated within 5 minutes. We ordered drinks at 2:47pm and then ordered appetizer and meals. Our food came out about 20 minutes later, but no silverware or napkins. She'd be right back. Also with our drinks. She didn't cone back. I had to go inside and ask again as my food was getting cold. She finished bussing a table and then got my silverware. At 3:30 we asked for our check and to cancel the drinks we never got, as we had eaten our food and just wanted to leave. The bartender who was also waitresses brought out our drinks, which we refused and said we were done with the meal 10 minutes ago with nothing to drink, so now we just wanted our check and to leave. She set drinks down told me I was rude and walked away. Terrible service! Immature young staff. Ruined our whole experience at OWA. We will not...

I never leave reviews for places but this place in particular I had to leave a review we are locals to the area after going to owa to ride rides we decided to try this restaurant for lunch the food was absolutely delicious at a good price the best part of this whole experience was the staff my daughter was feeling tired and the owner of the restaurant took her over to get her ice cream out of his own money to cheer her up my other daughter was feeling nauseous from the rides and sadly puked at the table onto her food we had 3 people who worked at the restaurant make sure that she was comfortable and felt ok they even offered to make her more food free of charge. Needless to say if you want a restaurant to treat your family like there own family I would highly recommend this place to anyone this will be the only restaurant we eat at in OWA...
