So a few things to say here. Got here around 12:30pm on a Thursday, expected them to be at least slightly busy. No one inside at all except two older ladies who had just arrived. There was one worker there seating them and us. It seemed like there was another person there who disappeared almost immediately. The person working told us he was actually a cook, who had been left there by himself, and he wasn't sure about waiting on tables, but would his best. We ordered quickly, and he went back and started cooking. We had the Korean boneless chicken wings, chicken tacos, and my wife had a burger. The wings were fantastic. Literally perfect. I could eat a couple of orders. Perfect balance of heat and sweet. My chicken tacos were also perfect. Loved them. The Chipotle sauce was a great complement to them. The kimchi fries stole the show. I'd go back just to get them and the wings. My wife liked her burger too. I didn't try it, although it looked good. So- the weird thing is nobody else was working. 3 or 4 more tables arrived as we were finishing, same guy doing everything. Props to him for being a hard worker and a great cook. Management obviously needs some help.

I love the concept of this place, I really do. I'm typically into fusion food, especially when it combines Asian and American foods creatively, which Bites Restaurant tries to do with their eclectic and diverse menu. However, I think that Bites fails to do so cohesively and in a tasty manner, at least from my personal experience. I ate here with my friend who would describe the kimchi burger as okay, but I was not a fan of the udon soup at all. I'm fine with things not being authentic, but I thought that it was just bland besides an overwhelming taste of too-salty soy sauce. I did enjoy the green bean tempura, however. Service was okay, nothing special or overly friendly, and not as accommodating as I would have liked. Food came out pretty quickly. The restaurant wasn't super clean and my table had a fly buzzing around it. This is definitely not a place I would recommend to anyone.

This was… not good. Three stars credited for the hardworking, friendly woman running the bar, waiting tables, seating folks, busing tables: one-woman show. Two very young men were running the kitchen and doing what they could but seemed out of their depth. The digital-only menu is a strangely conceived, excessively long, and poorly executed Americana interpretation of mostly Asian flavors and dishes. To be fair, several people enjoyed their meals but most did not. Prices are much too high for what was served, paired with a ridiculously expensive system for add-ons. Want a sprinkle of onion on your taco? Add $0.50. Want cheese? $0.75. The tacos in this photo were $6 each, not good ingredients or taste, and had no included sides. In my opinion, Bites will have to seriously bring up the quality or bring down the prices and trim the menu if they hope to stay in business.

So I wasn't looking forward to this but my hand has been forced so time to lay down my cards. I called ahead to the restaurant because I was having issues with finding my redemption code for a 50% off loyalty coupon. We opted to drive there and discuss it with the manager because the person that answered the phone said she didn't have the power to do anything and because she said she was busy. We got there and were seated and our waitress came to the table and attempted to see what she could find out on her own. She brought glassware, napkins, and silverware but we waited for about 15 minutes for some water. The manager came over and I gave my phone number and he looked up my loyalty account. He said the reason I couldn't see the redemption code anymore was because it had expired two days before. It was supposed to be my "gift" for being a loyalty member which actually stared last July on the 10th. So they issue the reward and it expires one day past my actual anniversary! and also on my end I did not see an expiration date. The manager didn't offer to honor it basically apologized and disappeared. We have been to places to eat where we needed to scan a QR code for the menu but we didn't know that we were also supposed to order our food from our phone as well. No one told us and we thought it was optional. As we started our order we realized they changed from serving full meals off the menu to ala carte where everything gets nickel and dimed. My son was charged $0.50 for wanting some aioli on his burger. Normally that would have been a quick request and no upcharge. So ordering that way ends up making the meals more pricey then they were with the old menu. My youngest son ordered a kids meal and we ordered a root beer. My older son wanted a root beer and they don't do fountain drinks but cans of soda for $1.75 each and our waitress never brought it out. By the time she actually came to our table he was already done with food. We did end up getting it but not at the appropriate time. My wife and I ordered the kimchi fries and were going to share the large order of salmon fish and chips. The waitress came to our table and said "I'm really sorry for whoever ordered the fish and chips" which the tone could have been taken a few different ways but basically they didn't have enough fish to fill the order. We were offered the half order or two salmon fish tacos. My wife picked the fish tacos and I have to tell you that if the two pieces of fish (one for each taco) was all they had left or if that is the new size of the fish when you order is not a fillet of fish its more like a chunk of fish. Our waitress came by our table to bring rags for an accidental water spill and said she'd bring more water. She never did. It wasn't until we were leaving that I realized that when I paid the order (which was in advance) that the reason there wasn't an additional place for tipping is because they automatically assessed a 15% gratuity plus nailed us $1.52 for the credit card processing fee. So we were hit with a $5.71 gratuity and frankly they didn't earn it. This would have been one of those times I definitely would have stiffed the server on a tip. I think I'm going to go to my credit card company and dispute the charge for the processing fee and the tip since it wasn't in any written terms I had to accept before submitting the payment. I'm so frustrated by the experience and my wife said she's done, as in we aren't going there anymore. We have dined there several times and had an issue the manager happily corrected on our next visit which was about 1.5 years ago. Tonight seemed like it was an anything that could go wrong did go wrong kind of night and the business customer relationship is irrecoverable. We won't be back and I'm deleting my loyalty account. It really sucks that we don't have very many good sit down eating establishments in town and we stay local to support local whenever we can but this is now a place we can no...

Incredible food. This restaurant has been in town for a while but for some reason my wife and I had never gone. We chose to go tonight and we will definitely be back. For drinks my wife chose the Lemon Drop which was good and a fairly standard drink. I chose the Tokyo 75 which is a Sake (rice wine) based drink. It was very unique and quite flavorful. The appetizers we split were the Kalbi Tacos (absolutely amazing flavor). The taco meat was tender and the jalapenos gave it a nice spicy kick at the end and was our favorite out of the foods we ate. Our other appetizer was the Kimchi Fries and was our second pick as far as favorites go. These are fried sweet potatoes with melted mozzarella cheese, parsely, and an excellent aioli sauce for dipping. The fries were soft on the inside and crisp on the outside and not greasy. Entree selection wasn't easy but we looked for something out of the ordinary so we went for the 4 piece fish and chips. The fish is salmon in lieu of cod or halibut. Again the flavor was excellent and your fingers aren't glistening with grease after eating. The second entree was the Bulgogi burger which actually has spicy pork instead of a beef patty for meat. I had a few small issues with this "burger" starting with the fact it's called a burger. I would have called it a spicy pork sandwich because it's not a burger. Second, I didn't notice any "heat" from the spicy pork. Third, it was still good but was at the bottom of our list as far as flavor. Maybe our palates were already spoiled by all the other foods and drinks. Our server had only worked there for 3 weeks, as much as told us so, and the lack of experience contributed to a little bit slower service than I believe one should expect at a restaurant of their caliber but it wasn't that we were completely disregarded. The inside of the dining room is simple, clean, and inviting. The lighting is done with individual hanging Edison bulbs lit at varied degrees of brightness some dim some bright but easy on the eyes. The south wall is mostly large mirrors which makes the space feel larger than it is. The seating is open, no booths, and you'll dine very close to others not in your party especially if they are busy. Since this was our first visit I am unsure how frequently patrons may wait for an available table as there is limited seating due to the size of the seating area. Pricing we felt was on par with the dining experience, the quality of food, and the portion sizes. We were full and chose to skip dessert this trip. Our bill was just under $50 which included to alcoholic beverages, two appetizers, and two entrees. We left a 20% tip and left very satisfied for just under $60. They have an online menu which unfortunately omits the prices and they also don't have their alcoholic drinks or dessert menu available for viewing online. They use locally sourced items for their menu from the local Carlton Meats, SakeOne, David Hill and Oak Knoll Wineries, Waltz Brewing, and Dogwood Distilling. We consider ourselves finicky and picky when it comes to spending money dining out but we just couldn't say anything truly negative about the food. I have read some reviews that are negative and all I can say is not everyone likes the same kind of food so that's going to happen. We had a family seated next to us with a very young child and they have high chairs. The night scene seemed to be geared more towards the adult crowd but during lunch especially I could see us taking our 7 and 9 year old boys with us. They offer takeout as an option and they also have catering services. Finally the one thing we both found we agreed was worth mentioning was the ambient temperature wasn't very warm. We both dined while wearing our coats inside to stay comfortable. I would have liked to have been able to remove my coat for more freedom of movement and I can only openly suggest that they turn...

Dear public audience,

May you have time to read and make the decision yourself of whether or not to support a business such as Bites Restaurant.

Good luck!

Update: 11/24 There you go again, not taking ownership of your business. You lack professionalism and courtesy. You come off as completely heartless by not caring enough about satisfying your customers. The sad and unsympathetic apology means nothing if it follows a BUT!

Those who read this are given knowledge of how you interact with reviews and customers as a NEW owner. The previous owners gave abundant portions, (whereas you cut the portions in half and kept the price). The previous owners were kind and welcoming and most importantly they reconciled with customers who may have not been 100 percent satisfied, (I hope you take note).

Cheers!

Update: thank you bites team for responding to my review so quickly. I’m concerned though because you say the sauces follow the same recipe, and the service provided is number one goal yet my review is specifically stating it is inconsistent. If it is known that the avocado gets brown and black on the burger (especially on to go orders) then have it served on the side rather than suggesting I order it a specific way because when I dine in I don’t have the problem of the avocado being in fresh. In addition yes the fries are tasty, but not for the price considering the portion size is only a cup of fries at 10 dollars with no sauce is a bit outrageous. Nonetheless from what I can read from other reviews you aren’t taking ownership of the feedback and inside just back lashing anyone who gives you an honest review. Thus, I will not be returning and highly suggest others to do the same. Don’t want to support a business who isn’t willing to make it right with the customer. Cheers!

11/18 We fell in love with this place during the pandemic as it was a new option to DoorDash for burgers. Although the last few times we have dined in or gotten take out, the food has been inconsistent. Especially with take out-not packaged with care, not fresh produce on burgers. I typically get the Ben’s man burger although the avocado is always black and brown so I pick it off and the buns are smashed together, very sloppy. But when I dine in the burger is nicely presented with fresh avocado. But the service is rushed. The last time we came in it was us and two other tables yet it felt the server was rushing to get us out of there. We didn’t even finish our food and she brought the check to us. Perhaps it depends on who is working what days but even in the sauce I can tell whoever is making it isn’t following the same recipes. The texture in the chipotle sauce is never the same. Sometimes it is thick and full of flavor other times it is water and lacking flavor. Although, I appreciate that it is homemade sauce I wish it was the same every time. It is upsetting only because of the price. The beer fries are not worth it. For the portion is very small. I wouldn’t mind but the overall inconsistency for the food and lack of welcoming makes it frustrating because we now live in Beaverton so we make the drive out there and tonight I was very disappointed in my burger and fries. I would be cautious when getting food from here, the food is inconsistent but when it is good it is really good which keeps us coming back but we have been disappointed the last handful of...
