After literal hours of perusing the myriad Italian restaurants in Fort Myers on Google because we were “craving spaghetti,” we settled on MiNas based on stellar reviews for the bread. Can’t say we were disappointed. The service was great. There was a very large party that I’m sure was taxing on the staff, but despite that our servers still made sure we had drinks and bread while our food was being prepared; and even that didn’t take very long. One attentive server even noticed our table was wobbly without us saying anything and fixed it for us in between tending his many tables. The food was fantastic. I had the primavera, which was flavorful and a very filling amount of food. My date had the shrimp Alfredo, which got a solid review of “I’m not upset about it.” In my experience, that means dang good. The bread was, as anticipated, also pretty damn great. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come in larger portions. You get four slices, but want more immediately. Were the staff less busy, we definitely would have asked for more. All in all, it was a fantastic experience. As a relatively heavily tattooed person, I often get weird service when I go to places for the first time. There was none of that here. I’m just visiting Fort Myers, but I’ll definitely be back next time...
Read morePicked the place after finding it on Google and Trip advisor with high ratings. Decided to drive from Ft Myers Beach and try it out. Advertised as Italian cuisine but found it to be a Latin American/Italian mix. Saw a picture of the Mussels fra Diablo on the menu online and ordered that....it was served just like the picture. Large portion and they asked me exactly how much heat I wanted. Prob the best Mussels Diablo I've ever had. Perfect pasta, excellent sauce, just right roasted garlic. Wife had the Eggplant Parmesan and loved it. Large portion. They are particular that the first two bread baskets are free and charged after that, as is a side of marinara for the Calamari, but I can understand that with the massive wine selection patrons would take a spot for hours over a couple of bottles of vino and the house made fresh bread (which is quite note worthy of a compliment), so it's hard to complain about the tight menu rules. They are specfic about not modifying the menu, but when you taste the food you'll understand it's spectacular the way they have it. Andre took time to talk to us and it's unusual to see an owner actually walk you too the door and wave goodbye. A definite visit again....
Read moreMina's Bistro is truly a "hidden gem" in Fort Myers. This family run restaurant (mom and dad cook and the kids run the front of the house) has some of the best Italian and Latin food around. You read that correctly. The menu is divided into Italian dishes and Latin dishes from Central and South America. No matter which side of the menu you choose, your taste buds are in for a treat. My go-to is the chicken piccata which is perfectly cooked and sized. I'll put it up against any other Italian restaurant's piccata in SWFL. My wife usually goes to the Latin side of the menu. It has everything from sirloin tips to chicken cooked in beer to cow's tongue! And that's cow's tongue is AMAZING! Mina's has wine and beer you go with your meal. It's one of my favorite places for dinner and if you stop in, it might...
