Calypso Cuisine moves up the list of Top Five Restaurants On The Treasure Coast to number three in the 2025-2026 edition, up from number five in the 2023-2024 edition; I am the food reviewer for both editions. Offering authentic food from the rich culture of the island of Trinidad, their food is very delicious, and always consistent, because Head Chef Savi prepares each dish. The goat curry is excellent, and a bit different than its cousins in Jamaican and Indian cuisine, in that it has a special mix of peppers in it that are unique and tasty. The option to have pumpkin on the side is the perfect sweet complement to the spiciness of the curry, and the way the pumpkin tastes with the curry is far better than one would expect from any previous experiences eating pumpkin. I always order my goat curry with a double side of pumpkin, and the basam chaat roti bread, which comes with it (although you have to specify that you want roti bread, when asked, and the type from the two choices available); the fresh house-made roti bread comes out so delicious, and even better when you dip it in the curry, as well as offering another balance to the spice. The only possible area of improvement would be if there were even more pumpkin. While the dish is spicy, the mix of peppers has serious healing properties; in my experience, it clears sinuses whenever congested, and once cleared an ear clog from swimming that lasted several days and seemed that it would require a trip to the doctor to clear. The restaurant does not have servers, and food is picked up at the counter. Improvements since our last edition are that the television was off, and the pop music was replaced by authentic music from Trinidad, but the volume could still be a bit lower.
Owner Spotlight: Chef Savi and Chef Shane own the restaurant, and operate it with their son. While Chef Shane makes the roti bread daily, Chef Savi makes everything else.

Read moreI went here for lunch. I must say this is my first visit to Fort Pierce and I felt like I was in Trinidad and Tobago. So much earthiness in this neighbourhood where I could see a lot of people from Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica. It felt like mini Caribbean town.
Coming to this small restaurant which is family owned is always bustling with people and it was super busy on a Saturday afternoon. Even if you place a To-go order over phone, you still have to wait for a while. I chose to dine in and ordered doubles with channa for appetiser and main course I got paratha( omg I have never had such a huge paratha in my life ) with curry goat. Their succulent pieces with potato and channa added to the curry is mouthwatering. I could see a lot of Indian flavours to this trini cuisine.
The owner lady who is also the chef makes some delicious dishes here I must say. You feel trini vibes when you are in this small food joint. There is a decent amount of seating space for a maximum of 15 people and ample parking space available. I tried their raisin croissant for dessert to wrap up my lunch. It was tummy full and an overwhelming experience. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a homely style cooking. Overall a great experience...
Read moreThis Saturday, we had the pleasure of dining at Calypso Cuisine for the 1st time. My friends and i just completed a very rigorous workout. It was four of us in total. We specifically saved our appetite for after our workout. OMG! I'm so glad that we did. The food at Calypso Cuisine was amazing! We were able to savor every bite of the curry chiicken roti w/the works, the oxtails w/ peas & rice, curry goat roti, saheena with chana, and doubles. We topped off our wonderful meal with an order of current rolls. We took some time to order because we were so indecisive as to what dish to order. Everything on the menu sounded so appetizing. Auntie, in the kitchen and her niece taking orders in the front were extremely patient, gracious, and very friendly. For the most part, we dined in for most of our meal. Honestly, everything was absolutely delicious! So, if you happen to be in the Fort Pierce area or are just passing through, I highly recommend stopping by Calypso Cuisine. It is definitely...
