We are HUGE True Food fans. We take friends to the restaurant in Scottsdale quarters and love the food, the experience and the atmosphere. We were super excited when we saw the True Food Market opened. We came on a Saturday night and they were practically empty. That should have been the first sign of impending disappointment. The second sign should have been the menu. I was excited to see so many gluten free things labeled on the menu. As someone with celiac, that's true excitement. But then none of their sides or sauces under the GF chicken tenders were labeled as GF. When asked for more clarification, the woman at the register was less than confident as she said, 'well, the mac and cheese definitely isn't because it has bread crumbs'. Sign three of disappointment. Underwhelmed doesn't even begin to explain the disappointment in this place. I decided on the chicken tenders and fries. As a celiac that is a rare meal. When they brought it out I was shocked. My first thought was, ' did she think I ordered the kids meal?' I grabbed a fry to eat while waiting for her to come back and ask, but the fry was cold. Not room temp. It was literally cold. Ugh. When she came back my first statement was, ' I think they brought the kids meal but I ordered the adult meal. She was nice but laughed and said, 'yeah, I thought that same thing but it's the adult meal. They did being back 'fresh fries' that were slightly warmer than room temp. I took a bite of the very small chicken tenders, maybe 4 inches long on a good day, and half the breading crumbled off. It lacked flavor and proper food temp. Again on the cold side of room temp. My partner got the two torpedos and a side. And together it was $51. $51 for a kids chicken tender meal that makes McDonald's taste gourmet. After eating the kids meals, we went next door to get Thai Chili to Go and got three times the food for 1/3 the price. This concept needs work. We love True Food, but I don't think I will ever return to this concept and don't imagine it will last long in its...
Read moreI have been here MANY TIMES and absolutely love their food. The ingredients are clean and the price is spectacular. I am amazing that their prices are so good for what they are offering. I have been here for lunches and take out many times. The staff has always been friendly and kind.
The chicken is delicious and I love adding it to a salad. The strawberry matcha is A-MAZ-ING!!!! Everything I have tried is great. I am gluten free, so knowing I can have the breaded chicken is a huge win.
Finding good quality places with genuinely high quality food is really hard. Many places say they have organic or better product, but when you go it is not authentic like True Food Market. Not everyone appreciates or values that, but it is hugely important to me. After healing many health challenges by changing what I eat and the quality of what I eat, I am so grateful for a good option to go out to eat or grab takeout on a busy day.
Sometimes the food takes a few minutes longer than I would like, but that has more to do with living in a world of instant gratification where we want everything now and we are in a hurry. Making better quality does take some extra time.
This is my favorite place to meet people for lunch or dinner. The seating is great and we can take our time and visit without feeling rushed to leave. It has a great vibe. I highly recommend True Food Market if you value good quality, clean food for a great price.
THANK YOU True Food Market! You all are amazing and I will keep visiting and...
Read moreModern vibe with super friendly staff awaits. The food though was horrible. Maybe horrible isn’t the best way to describe this food - tasteless is a better description. Which is surprising because True Food at Kierland is very good and all of the dishes that I’ve had over the years at Kierland were packed with flavor. Ordered the Mediterranean Bowl at the Market location and added the grilled chicken. The chicken was decent, but there was zero flavor or taste with anything else in the bowl. It’s was just a big glob of quinoa with zero taste. The arugula was supposed to be a Greek salad, but I think it was suppose to have dressing on it - but did not. The two small dabs of harissa yogurt (literally size of a dime) did nothing to add favor. I then asked for a side of harissa, and realized that the harissa too had no flavor whatsoever. This was one of the most bland tasteless meals I have ever had in my entire life. I don’t recommend this location and will never go back. There are better options in the same new plaza for 1/2...
