So, we have eaten here four times before, after new ownership and was BLOWN AWAY by the food. It was delicious, very VERY good. We were so impressed, we decided to bring our two girls out to eat (of whom are very picky) and they raved over their food! The capers salad consisted of huge chunks of mozzarella , tomatoes and glaze. Their cognac rose pasta was full of shrimp and scallops and the sauce was so creamy and rich.

Flash forward to last night: we went there so excited to have a date night (we’re not from the area but have a house in Parryville). The drinks were very good! We ordered the cognac pasta and crab cakes, with wedge salad and caprese salads to start. Everything we had ordered was just not there like it used to be. I asked the waitress if they had changed the way they made everything cause the caprese salad had 2-3 pieces of mozzarella and a few tomatoes over top bruschetta toast with some salad under it. She said yeah, when the ownership changed (obviously we have been here quite a few times after that happened) and that was it. Ok so the main course came out
. Immediately it smelled like strong seafood which was a turn off. The cognac pastas sauce was very thin, not creamy like it normally was and was definitely off in taste. I couldn’t finish it as the shrimp and scallops had a grayish color to them and it smelled very strong. My wife’s crab cakes ingredients were changed as well! Lump crab cake?! Far from lump. They had a strong crab smell, but was all fillers! The sauce they USED in the past and what’s on the menu is a lemon butter-garlic horseradish aioli, but they used the same cognac sauce that was on my pasta on hers! It was a filler patty, and tasted pretty bad! We mentioned the change a few times and how the shrimp and scallops were greyish, to be ignored and disregarded. Tiramisu was decent, just didn’t have the normal setting as shown in their pics on here.

It’s upsetting that such a great place we would always recommend, we just can’t anymore due to the food and service. Both my stomach and wife’s are pretty tore up today as well. We were told when we came in the first time, by regulars, “To bring a five star chef from Philly to a very local place like this
I don’t know if people are ready for this around here.” Well
. You give up quality and raise your prices, the people will eventually stop eating here and continue at the bar with bar food. My hope here is for the owner to see this and not upset him or make him mad, but to resolve these issues and bring back the GOOD FOOD because it is a small community but it’s YOUR community and the ones...

Definitely one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. Waitress was decent, food was old, some undercooked and some overcooked.

We walked in and they let us know its cash only because their credit card machine wasnt working.

We ordered food, 30 minutes later they let us know they were understaffed and would put the order in soon. They told us their house salad already had dressing on it so we couldn't choose our dressing. The salad was terrible. 0/10 it was very wet and very old with large rotten pieces. We sent it back but didn't receive a new one.

After being seated for over an hour we got the entree. At this point we would eat anything. We got the filet mignon steak and lobster with asparagus and a potato.

Lobster was stringy like it was frozen 5/10. Steak was rare when we requested medium; a good quality cut but tasted way too smoky and had no salt or seasoning 7/10. Asparagus was just kind of mushy 6/10. Baked potato was good 8/10. Fries were unsalted 6/10.

Perogies were an appetizer 7/10, just tasted like frozen ones and they put half cooked onions on top and lettuce underneath.

We were to tired and hungry to send more items back and complain so we ate and left. But for two people, no alcohol, it was $150 and terrible overall. I'd much rather have a $5 big mac than Pocono Tavern steak and lobster.

They were understaffed, no managment, no systems in place to satisfy unhappy customers, no quality control, old food.

We should have left after the salad. We also wondered why the table next to us didnt eat their salad or take home leftovers. Now we know.

The restaurant has a great menu and good atmosphere. It has potential, but it was some of the worst food I've ever had for top dollar. I do not plan to ever give them another chance. No restaurant should have dressed salad when it takes 30 seconds to add dressing. And the small salad had black slimy, about five day expired lettuce burries at the bottom. It was...

Let's start with this - I have been to the Pocono Tavern multiple times and have recommended this restaurant to multiple people. I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner, as I always had great service. Got to dessert, halfway through eating it I realized the cake was moldy - now this wouldn't have been a big deal if correctly handled. They asked us if we wanted another dessert, like I would want another moldy dessert. As we got the bill, we were still being charged for the cake. We asked to speak to the owner, he immediately came out very unprofessional and very rude. Asked me multiple times, what do you want me to do about it it's just mold and "do you know what happend"? Not sure really what that even means... as he's acting like this in front of other customers. He also yelled at his waitress for not noticing the mold, definitely not her fault. He made a big deal about taking the $8 cake off the bill... hope $8 doesn't ruin your business. I wouldn't mind the cake being moldy if handled professionally, accidents happen. The way he handled this situation is the real issue and it's concerning he's a business owner. Disgusting behavior and i will make sure to tell everyone I know about...

The ATM sign caught me off guard, but after walking in, I was pleasantly surprised. The space is bright and nicely decorated. We were seated quickly and promptly met by our server, Stacey. Drinks were fast to the table. Stacey shared the specials for the night and answered our questions - I had gone for the scallops, but the chef didn't like the quality. So while a bit bummed, I decided on the shrimp appetizer and crab cake entree. Hubby got the wedges salad and honey hot cheesesteak. They butterflied the shrimp and coated it with dressing that wasn't too thick or sticky sweet. Perfectly complimentary. The dressing and crispy bits on the wedge salad were delicious. The crab cakes were an 8/10. I prefer less seasoning and more crab flavor. But if you are an old bay fan, they are spot on. Damn the chresesteak was huge! Overall delicious, flavorful, filling, and friendly!

We had a great dinner at this local eatery. The food was very good. We enjoyed the fried mozzarella which was crafted from their house made cheese and excellent marinara. The hot honey chicken cheesesteak sandwich was delicious but I feel compelled to warn you that it could easily feed 3 people. I don’t usually comment on French fries but the hand cut petal fries that came with the meal were superb. I couldn’t stop eating them. Fred enjoyed the crab stuffed flounder as well. To sum up. Great food, generous portions, good prices and a friendly attentive staff. Do try a seasonal cocktail I enjoyed the rosemary maple old fashioned.
