We tried Butchers for the first time tonight and I was disappointed. It has only been open a week so hopefully the kinks will get worked out. If there was an option to send this feedback to the owners via email, I would have done that. I did call the manager to voice my concerns but the response I received was defensive so here we are.

The pros: The decor and atmosphere are excellent. Love the theme and layout.

The cons: It wasn't very busy (we were there at 7 pm on a Tuesday night) and yet, it still took 15 minutes for our server to greet us. We placed our orders and the server brought us water down ice tea. We asked her for more ice but once we ordered, we didn't see her again until it was time to pay the bill. Three other people waited on us during our visit. Here are some things to note:

~ The crab stuffed flounder is not stuffed. The small crab patty sits on top. Also, the flounder has a lot of bones in it. ~ The shrimp and steak skewers are over cooked. I got a sweet potato with mine and it was tiny. No one offered us condiments or any other sauce. ~ The broccoli and steamed spinach were both undercooked. ~ Two of us asked if we could substitute a side salad instead of side item. The server said sure. Turns out that is not true. We got charged an additional $3.99 to add a side salad and only got one side item. ~ The side salad was terrible and I sent mine back and asked for another side item instead. The upcharge was still on the bill so I got charged for a side salad I did not eat. ~ We had to repeatedly asked for extra ice for our iced tea and it finally arrived on the 3rd request. ~ When the bill arrived, we paid it and left. I noticed on the way home that they added a 4.5% service charge. I called the manager and she informed me that was the charge to use a credit card and that the credit card company decided to set it up that way and there was nothing she could do. That is simply not true. It is decided by the owner when the credit card processing system is installed. I own a company and take credit cards from clients regularly and that fee can be and SHOULD BE paid by the company, NOT passed along to the customer.

We were still hungry and out $105 when we left.

I believe there is opportunity for improvement and if it happens this will be a great addition to the community. In the meantime, providing another way to submit feedback and training the staff on customer service would be a great place to start. If the owner would like to discuss these issues with me, I am happy to consider editing or removing...

Outstanding service from the time we arrived until we left. Our food arrived in a timely manner as were hot dinner rolls. This was a great attribute. We started with the potato skins appetizers. Spot on with flavor and temperature. I also ordered a side salad. I always do this at a restaurant bc you can tell a lot about the establishment by tasting a simple side salad. Butchers did not disappoint. Salad was fresh and not lacking in quantity. My wife ordered the smothered chicken with sauteed mixed vegetables and a baked potato as her entree. Note that the potato comes with butter and sour cream, cheese and bacon are extra. Wife said the chicken was well seasoned and juicy.By the attached photo, it was definitely smothered with onions and green peppers. However, her sauteed mixed vegetables ( squash, zucchini) were in fact bland and lacked any malliard browning. I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye, mid rare sauteed onions and mushrooms with a baked potato loaded and onions and asparagus. At first glance, I was disappointed in my steak bc it was thin. However it had great grill marks and browning. It was slightly salty for my taste, bud when eaten with the very bland asparagus, they created a tasty bite. I would order again but request mid rare closer to medium.Even being a thin steak, there were bites that were rare. I'm ok with that, but not everyone is as adaptive to steak temperatures as I am. I would like to rave about the sauteed onions and mushrooms, and I bet they would have toned down the salinity of my steak, but I never received them. A slight and forgiving oversight by the chef. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the meal I had . My wife enjoyed hers, but didn't think it was a 75 dollar worthy meal.We don't mind spending it at a non franchise restaurant though. Good job to all. I...

My husband and I had seen this place several times and finally decided to stop and try their food. Upon entering the place it was quiet and serene. Only one other couple there. I ordered the seafood platter and my husband ordered the smothered chicken. When we received the food my husband didn’t get what ordered but he decided to keep it. Upon receiving my food the first thing I noticed was that the crab cake was over cooked and upon tasting it was way too salty. I have high blood pressure. I brought it to the waitress attention and she only apologized and never said anything else. I let that passed and decided to try the other food. Upon tasting it I ate only 2 scallops from the food and no longer had an appetite. My stomach started hurting really bad . My mouth started watering. Before I could get home I was purging every where. I decided to call and ask for the manager because at this point I wanted a refund. Only for my food. I’ve have yet to hear from anyone else from the restaurant. I still have the food where there was only 2 scallops eaten from the platter. I am sorely disappointed. I would still like a reply back from the manager. I won’t be visiting there again and will surely pass the word on to never visit this...

The place is very open spaced. Which could make for a very noisy environment. You can hear everyone's conversation. We were greeted and seated. The waiter seemed pretty nervous, which is probably understandable since this place just opened. My wife ordered a water and me a coke. My wife couldn't drink the water because it tasted like soap. So she got a ice tea. The bread came out but they didn't bring small side dishes for us to put our bread in to eat. The bread was pretty good. The food then came about 20 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Butchers 16 oz. Bone-in Ribie Steak. My wife ordered the Stuffed Flounder. The food presentation was really good. The portions were just right. The steak was was good but really under cooked towards the bone. The steak lacked a good sear and looked more like it was cooked in the oven. The steak was tender and had good seasoning but I just expected more being that it being a steak restaurant. My wife said the stuffed flounder was really good. This place was okay but I have to keep in mind this place just opened and they have some kinks to work out. I will try it again but not go all out and get the most expensive items on the menu.

Here is what we had and, for the most part, we really enjoyed this place! Staff were eager to please and yes, they made mistakes but what do you expect when they're just starting out? I'm sorry we didn't get a picture of all of our food. Appetizer: Crab Stuffed Mushrooms (see picture)--I couldn't tell that there was crab in there. I just couldn't taste it and feel like the recipe for the filling may need revision. But keep the sauce--the sauce that came with it was delicious! We just wish that there had been more than 5x 1" diameter mushrooms on our plate for close to $12. Dinner: we shared the Bone in Ribeye topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions with Rice and Broccoli--All of this was delicious! Rolls came with REAL butter--they were soft and paired perfectly with dinner. I would LOVE to see them add a small dessert menu!

Stopped in this place today w/my mom for my birthday lunch. I am originally from this area & let me just say that this is the best place that's opened in my hometown in a very long time! We had 2 of their lunch special offerings. I got the half rack of ribs & mashed potatoes! Ribs were tender & falling off the bone! The BBQ sauce was sweet & tangy & tasted wonderful! The mashed potatoes were superb, creamy w/a few lumps in there! I had the limoncello cheesecake for dessert..it was delicious! My mom got the fried shrimp & a baked potato & she said it was very good! Highly recommend this place! Please, Franklin, hang on to this one.. don't run them out of town!!
