Pro Tips: This restaurant is on the northeast corner of Preston and 121. If you are coming from Preston and are north bound, you will NOT take the bridge; stay in the right lane at the split as you approach the intersection of 121. If you take the bridge, you will pass it and have to make a u-turn at an awful intersection. If you are paying cash, go right on up to the counter to order with a person. Otherwise, go to a kiosk to order.
Good: It’s clean. Why did I mention this first? With the setup, I could see the kitchen and the kitchen’s floor were clean. You rarely get this open view of a kitchen, and I have a little confidence that I am not going to get sick or have “extras” in my food. Also, this restaurant is a fast casual, and too many of the fast casuals will have sticky dining tables even when the place is empty; this is the time the staff should be making sure the tables are not just cleared off but also had a good wipe down. This place’s tables were squeaky clean. Ok, so onto the food. The egg yolk was dry; I’m used to them being runny usually in a bibimbop. There was the usual variety of veggies in my bowl and the spicy sauce as on the side. It all tasted fresh. The gyozas were crispy and the sauce was sweet— note, 8 dumplings for $6 is a good price. There is a mini fridge by the soda fountain with different sauces you can use in your bowl. Service was quick; of course I had to wait for the food but it was quick and efficient and handed to me with a smile.
To improve on: The bowl is huge but the ratio of veggies could be improved upon with a little more veggies, without sacrificing with the meat portion.
Bad: Nothing bad. I noticed the soda fountain was out of order with a sign on it but I don’t recall it saying whether there was an alternative or you had to go talk to...
Read moreI visited here on Tuesday 11/05/24 for a late lunch & got the chicken katsu toji bowl. The chicken was way way over cooked and old. Enough that i could not eat it. I tried to call the restaurant multiple times but no answer. Today i went by and talked to the owner in order to give the restaurant a chance to make it right. I used my translator because she didn't understand when I tried to explain my issue. I was as polite as I could be and told her I wasn't mad or anything just wanted her to make it right. She refused so I left and decided to post my review. Unfortunately, some retailers, shops and restaurants do not understand that without customers they won't survive. It was an easy fix but she would rather hold her ground than to retain a customer. Its ok, i just wont go back and a I'll leave it up to all of you to make your decision to visit here. I do a lot of reviews and always fair. Hopefully she will see this and do better in the future. Wish her only...
Read moreUnbelievabowl indeed. This restaurant exceed my expectations by a long shot in terms of value, quality and speed.
Ordered the Chicken Katsu curry bowl, Veggies croquettes curry bowl and a side of Gyozas. The order was ready in 5 minutes. After arriving home the chicken and croquettes still had some crunch so believe if consumed on premises it would’ve been crunchier.
The portions were big and a great value for the price as they didn’t skimp on the meat. Very balanced bowl with veggies, carbs and proteins. Great diversity of textures when mixed all together with the curry. Stir fried veggies had a tad of char to them which added a nice touch of smokiness to the dish. The curry itself was delicious and I saved some to eat with additional rice.
The restaurant’s concept is an introvert’s dream but the short interaction with the staff was...
