So my husband and I like to checkout new places for brunch on the weekends and I happen to see great reviews on Yelp for a new place in Fullerton called “Our Nest”, very cute name by the way. So we decided to see what all the hype was about. It’s in Fullerton, not to far from CSUF and close to the 57 freeway. There was plenty of parking which is a plus, because I fight for parking at work everyday and I’m not in the mood for that on the weekends. Anyways, when we walked up there was out door seating (under white tents) as well as about 6-8 tables inside. We chose to sit inside and we were immediately seated, which is really nice when you’re starving and smelling all the good food being served. We were greeted by a very sweet young girl who asked for our drink order. She asked if we wanted a mimosa, so it appears that they serve some alcohol. We opted for water and coffee and it came out right away, with a nice size bowl of all types of creamer packets, a variety of sweeteners and stirrer sticks. I like that they just brought it out and I didn’t have to ask for flavored creamer. After looking over the extensive menu (lots of choices), but not too many or overwhelming. We decided to order breakfast even though it was close to noon and we could’ve ordered lunch. My husband ordered the chorizo and eggs (made with turkey chorizo) and I eyed up the cinnamon French toast... I ended up ordering an half order of French toast which comes with 2 pieces of toast and a side of bacon which comes with 2 pieces of bacon. I must say that French toast was amazing!!! It melted in my mouth and it was crispy on the outside and soft and custard like on the inside. It was just cooked to perfection! I tasted all three components on my husband’s dish which came with chorizo and eggs, Spanish rice and refried beans, oh also choice of flour or corn tortillas, he chose flour. I thought the chorizo and eggs was the best thing on the plate. The beans and rice were just ok, not bad, but they didn’t knock my socks off. I judge Mexican food on how good the beans are and I can say I’m super picky about refried beans. After both of us practically licking our plates because it was just that good, we got a topper on our coffee, paid and headed on our way. The owner of the restaurant came by and asked how everything was, she was young, sweet and very appreciative of our business!!! Everyone there was great, service was better than I expected and the cinnamon French toast is definitely a hit if you’re looking for a yummy not too sweet breakfast treat. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely give it a try. So if you’re wondering why I didn’t give it a 5 start, there were just a couple of things that I feel brought the rating down. One was there was a customer, an older guy who came in and was either ordering food to go or picking up food to go. He came in without a mask and our table was close to the hostess stand where he ordered his food, he was friendly to all the servers and said hi to each one of them and not one of them asked him to put his mask on, even though the signs on the entrance say a mask is required. He waited inside for his food, about 15 mins and didn’t wear a mask the whole time... That somewhat bothered me, but not enough to say anything to anyone, because I was really enjoying my breakfast. The second thing was the floors. They’re concrete inside the restaurant and I’m a fanatic about clean floors in a restaurant. One server whipped a table and instead of whipping the food into a dirty dish or towel, she whipped all the food onto the floor. I expected someone to come by with a broom and dust pan to pick up, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. Overall I’d recommend you give it a try! The food is definitely a 5...
Read moreI have never…in my entire life…been treated as horribly and hurtfully as my boyfriend and i were treated by the owners of this restaurant this morning.
What did I do to deserve it? I moved our table 2-3 inches, so my boyfriend could sit down.
When my boyfriend and I (and our little dog) were shown to an outside table, it was obvious the space between his bench and the table would only accommodate a very small person. My bf is a tall, big guy. The bench was the only good seating option for him. It was already pushed up against the building; no extra room there. The restaurant worker who seated us didn’t notice the problem or offer any help. My bf is not able to lift things, so I often make small adjustments that let us both enjoy dining together. Even though I actually had abdominal surgery earlier this week, I slid the table and its umbrella and the heavy umbrella stand over as much as I could manage. It could not have been more than 2 or 3 inches. I would not have been able to move it any more than that.
The restaurant owner/guy came out and started chastising me for moving the table. He complains at me about the landlord enforcing ADA requirements. I actually love the ADA. I want everyone to have enough room to move and sit in public places! He removed the two chairs we weren’t using and I hoped we could just enjoy breakfast. But no.
The restaurant owners and workers kept coming outside and getting in our space.
First, one worker stands in the empty parking space directly facing our sidewalk table and points her cellphone at us. Why? I asked her not to photograph us. She said it was for something else. I asked her to please not to point her phone in our direction and she argued about it. Why?
Then restaurant owner/guy comes out and angles the umbrellas of the tables near our table. It’s overcast. So…why?
Then restaurant owner/wife-of-guy comes out with 3 workers, including cellphone person…and they start posing for photos right next to our table. Again, I asked them to please not point cameras anywhere near us. She says a bunch of things that are mean and/or gaslighting. I asked if they could just wait until we were gone. She said more mean things, said she would be happy to cancel our order. So yeah. They harassed us until we left.
Tl:dr - Don’t move the furniture. Not even an inch. Sit verrrry still. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll be allowed to eat here.
UPDATE: To recap… It is the responsibility of the business owner, not the customer, to offer reasonable accommodations under the ADA. At no point has anyone from this business ever shown any concern…at all…for the reasonable accommodation of my boyfriend, re: seating. The seating on offer was not accessible for him due to spacing constraints. And he’s someone who qualifies for accommodation under the ADA! We cannot be the only people this business has failed to accommodate, if — as the business owner himself complained to me — the landlord routinely hires spotters to verify sidewalk clearances, per ADA. This business choses to crowd its sidewalk with tables and chairs, such that disability accommodation is at risk if furniture is moved even a few inches. The business owners prioritized a photo shoot for their social media over serving actual customers. Their behavior related to the photo shoot actually forced us to leave. Business owners’ behavior toward customers is also on display in their response to this review. Conclusion:...

I went to "Our Nest" on 10/16/22 with my 2yr old daughter to eat breakfast. I ordered her a kid platter, but she was unable to eat with the utensils provided (as they are extremely large and heavy, not toddler friendly at all). Unfortunately, I had to request a small plastic fork so that she could eat. Halfway through our meal, she accidentally dropped her plastic fork on the ground. I flagged down the waitress to explain the issue and request a plastic fork replacement. Her response left me in shock, she said, "those forks are expensive, can I bring her a spoon?" I was speechless and pointed to the spoon that was already on our table and said, "I guess she can try to use the spoon we already have." My daughter was unable eat her breakfast with a spoon (as she was NOT eating soup, but eggs and French toast smothered in syrup)
I asked for the manager/owner and explained to him what occurred. He immediately responded with, "that waitress is my wife" and then began to justify their reasoning for denying my daughter a fork. As he stated, "The plastic fork cost me $0.75 compared to a $0.10 plastic spoon." I tried to explain to him that it was not wise business practice to deny a customer a plastic fork regardless of the cost. JP/owner refused to give us a plastic fork. My daughter was forced to eat the rest of her breakfast with her fingers!!
Unbelievable, they preferred to lose a customer over a $0.75 fork!
Please visit YELP and read through Samantha's (waitress/wife) response to my review and other negative reviews they receive. She is beyond unprofessional, rude, disrespectful and beyond argumentative to anyone that posts a negative experience at "Our Nest"
Will never visit or recommend this establishment again!
RESPONSE to OWNER: Posting my honest experience at your establishment is not HARASSMENT, on the contrary it is a customer's RIGHT!
The simple fact is that you and your wife (owners) denied me a PLASTIC FORK for my 2yr old daughter. She was forced to finish her meal with her fingers!
This is not ok, and I will continue to post my experience at '"Our Nest" on ALL review and social media platforms. This is just the beginning. You will learn to treat ALL customers with respect regardless of their...
