WARNING don’t come here for food!!

I wish I didn’t have to do this, I rarely leave reviews that are less than par.

Absolutely TERRIBLE for food. DO NOT come here for food. I’m an avid Yelper, THIS PLACE DOES NOT OFFER QUALITY. We have been visiting and now living up here for nearly 2 decades. We ended up here last night, even after I read the last years Yelp and Google reviews that clearly shown most ppl were not impressed with the food, we last tried GBC about 5 years ago and made a poor decision to dine here last night. Since our first experience and all the communication guests have left on their YELP and Google page, it’s obvious that Nothing has changed.

BLTA, bread wasn’t even toasted. Burger was like the reviews say. Mediocre.

I’ve been sick a couple of hours after eating the wings and since myself and another in the party had discovered the order of wings was just undercooked enough to pass for •looking• cooked.

The inside was white enough to look cooked but you could tell by the texture/slime factor is wasn’t cooked enough. I gave Benefit of doubt, tried a second one... still bad. Each person in the party had one and had the same conclusion.

Absolutely terrible for food. The server had no feedback or suggestions when placing the order for what was good or popular and now I see why. Myself being a host, server, bartender in my late teens-mid 20’s, I get it. Nothing here is worth mentioning or revisiting and we aren’t beer drinkers.

It’s no wonder this place is listed low when you sort search results by rating on Yelp for all the down town Galena Restaurants.

Go to Fried Green Tomatoes, Embe, Little Tokyo...

Tried to grab lunch here yesterday. Apparently the owner thought it would be a good idea to schedule 1 bartender and 1 server for a Sunday lunch on a holiday weekend. Instead of the staff asking people to wait to sit, they continued to let the restaurant volume grow. The bartender complained (to us) about having to serve us after the server was too busy. He came to take our order, tried to run from the table without even asking if we wanted drinks. Appetizer came out with half of our meals. Tried to track him down to ask where missing items were as he ran away again. Never a refill offer or check on our table to ask how things were. Food was overcooked and dry. Had to get up to refill our own sodas. I asked him to take a breath and served us by giving us a second to get the missing items. He then walked behind the bar and continued to talk crap about our table to the server and customers at the bar. He came back to let us know that he transferred our table to someone but no one ever came back to the table. This is not the way Galena should be reflected. Every restaurant and shop works hard to succeed in a seasonal environment. This place has continued to decline over the years due to staffing and employee attitude. We will never return and will take every opportunity to turn...

My family and I came here for dinner and drinks. We were seated by the hostess and the wait staff was super busy running around. We waited for a while without being served (30 minutes total). We felt bad because we knew the wait staff was non stop but we noticed tables coming in after us that were being served. It appeared that one of the waitstaff asked the hostess twice to come to our tables to get our drink orders and to get us started, but she refused for whatever reason to do so. After waiting to be served for 30 minutes we decided to leave and try another place to eat. When we got up from the table ( I was in crutches due to a foot injury so as you can imagine I cannot get around as well as I like which also added to the disappointment of the situation that we had to go through the hassle of finding another place to go to) The hostess that seated us just pushed in our chairs and took our menus without saying a word to us. This happened right as we got up from the table. No apology or anything. It was just such an odd experience and disappointing . I’ve been here before a few years prior and had a great experience, but after this we are unsure that we will come back.
